Two out of four can be a problem

I don't remember what it's like to have fun or see friends or do anything other than work, work, work.  :(  I actually started crying in my office on Friday night when I was still there at 8 pm and I was starving and my back was hurting and I was paralyzed with the indecision of whether to pack all my papers up with me so I could work from home or ( Read more... )

camping, work is destroying me, trips, podcasts

Thanks, I can't wait to get out of this humidity!

Did you miss the earthquake because you weren't in DC or because you slept through it? I was here and slept through it, so I missed it too. But my coworkers who live closer to the epicenter (Gaithersberg? Somewhere in MD) felt it.

Have fun! I hope the tent situation works out! Just be sure to bring lots of insect repellent. If you've never been to New Hampshire or Maine, especially Maine, and aren't prepared, the mosquitoes can ruin it.

That's good to know, especially for managing my expectations. I was already planning on bringing insect repellent and just hoping not to use it, so it's good to know that I should expect to and just be surprised if I don't need it...

I hate bugs. :( I also worry about ticks -- I never even saw one until moving to the East Coast. They're truly foul.

Yeah, it really sucks and I can't help but think how *I* seem to get screwed over more than others, but it's all chance stuff popping up that none of us have any control over... Either way, the vacation countdown is now FIVE DAYS WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Ooooh, good ideas! I have a different Guster album and just two songs off Ganging Up On the Sun, so maybe this is a good excuse to fill out the rest of it! Thanks!

Have a great trip! And thanks for the podcast recs - I like podcasts for knitting (if I ever have time for that... *sigh*).

I like Car Talk, which is hilarious even if you don't know anything about cars, and Science Friday on NPR.

Podcasts are kind of like convenient radio minus commercials. :P

I like Car Talk and Science Friday, too. My dad is a HUGE Click and Clack fan, so I grew up always aware of weekend mornings because I'd hear them laughing at their own jokes. ;)
