I blame homesickness

Does anyone else have horrible self control and do things like stay up too late watching a movie that's not even good?  I was exhausted yesterday yet stayed up until 2 am watching The Hand That Rocks the Cradle simply because it was filmed in Seattle and I wanted to see scenes from home.  The movie is Not Good -- the family hires a live-in nanny so ( Read more... )

OMG this is so me it's not even funny. That movie was horrible. I watched it when I was little and it scared the hell out of me!

Poor Meg Ryan! She used to be so pretty before she turned into a wax caricature of herself :( Just age naturally and gracefully! People are so obsessed with age that they forget how to live life...

Fiance? I may be late in saying this but CONGRATS!!! I hope you have many happy years and make beautiful memories together.

Yeah, I remember watching it when I was younger and being freaked out. And this time I was disturbed in all new ways -- like when the psycho nanny nurses the other woman's baby. SO WRONG.

I think Jamie Lee Curtis has made a big deal of letting herself age naturally and I think it's cool. I wish more actors did that. Men, too, seem to feel the pressure and have work done. :(

Thanks! We got engaged on our vacation and are both still adjusting to "engaged" status. Which is exactly the same as before... but also with a slight twinge of "different." (Wow, how was that for inexpressive?) ;)

Sorry for your homesickn-ness. I haven't watched the first film, but adore the second. Meg Ryan was so beautiful, why did she ever turn to surgery?!

I hope the party goes okay!!! <3

I realized in this re-watch of Sleepless in Seattle that Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks only say like 5 words to one another in the whole movie, and most of those are at the very end. It's kind of cool, in a "modern fairy tale" way, how the movie still effectively leaves us with no doubt that they'll be perfect together both on the magical and the mundane parts of life together. It's sweet.

The party was a lot of fun!

I hope the barbecue was fun! Maybe you could invest in a Pacific Northwest travel film on DVD, so you can get the scenery without the plot. Or more trips back to Seattle, either way. :)

The BBQ was great, thanks! And I like the idea of more trips back home... including a permanent move... For now, I'll just look forward to my next trip back, which is only 10 days from now. WOOOOOO!!!!!
