Missing Leopard
Orlando hadn't seen Viggo since... he could not remember when and he become more and more restless. He had thought they would keep up their friendship. He knew that the Leopard said he was a loner. A part of Orlando hoped that he would have changed Viggo's heart. He had for a moment felt something - the draw to that someone who could be his mate - but now Orlando was uncertain.
Deciding that he could no longer be inside, he left the Sanctuary and headed to the park where he first had spotted Viggo. There were not many people so Orlando thought he would be safe in his natural form. Everything was so much easier that way. He could separate the smells, even if he probably wouldn't find Viggo that way.
He went around the park twice and also searched through the thicker bushes. He didn't see any sign of the Snow Leopard, nor the man with the mesmerizing green eyes. As the sun was still out Orlando went to lie in a place he thought was secure.
Dozing and with his thoughts elsewhere he let down his guard.
"Mum, look: what a cute cat. Can't we take him?" A girl's shrill voice woke him. Feeling how close she was and not wanting to terrify her he lay still.
"Annie! You shall not pet it. It's a wild animal," a mature female voice called out. "You can never trust a wild animal."
Not long after Orlando realised that she had called the police to report what she had seen. He nervously stayed where he was a little longer and then slowly crept backwards so he would not be there when the police sent anyone to investigate. Orlando hoped that Viggo would not show up there and that the Leopard would come to Sanctuary instead.
