Summary: It can't be a dance on roses all the time.
"Please, darling what is it that I've done now?" Orlando questioned, holding his hands out.
The girl just shakes her head.
"If you don't tell me, Misty, how would I be able to correct myself?"
"You… you are such… bullocks. I hate you!" she couldn't hold back her tears and they started to run. 'Why are men too stupid to see what women can see clearly?'
Orlando moved from behind the car to console her. Misty saw it, but was no where near ready to allow him, not yet anyway, so she turned around and ran.
"Misty, stop! Misty, please don't run away." Orlando started running after her. "I don't think you hate me. You know that I love to go out, so why can't I do it with Kisten?"
Misty stopped. 'How dared he mention her name. Again.' She turned around to face him.
"By now you should knew how I feel about her!" her voice rose and she couldn't stay calm.
Orlando had stopped too. "And you knew very well that I'm only friends with her. I don't love her. It is you that I love. I don't understand you… it was you that said we should continue meet our friends as well. Have I ever forbid you to go out with Samuel?"
Misty fisted her hands, starring at him. "How dare you take in Samuel into this?" her tears clearly changed to anger. "What have he ever done to you? He is my best friend!"
"You really want to know what I think about Samuel, do you?" an irritating sound had crept into Orlando's voice.
"YES!"
"I think he is a parasite. He uses you! He has tried to take advantage of who I am." The fire inside Orlando seemed to burst. He had held his thoughts inside all too long. "Did you know that it was he that went to the paper three months ago?"
"You lie. Samuel would never have done something like that to me… us." Misty looked very suspicious.
"Who would you think lay behind it? We where only four people that knew about it. Chris would never say anything."
"He could have accidentally let it slip…" She tried.
"If Chris had taken advantage of what he knew about me, then there had been so much more about me in the tabloids than it has ever been. He knew practically everything about me, so he has showed I can fully trust him. Who does that leave, either Samuel or you?" Orlando had lowered his voice.
"How dare you to accuse me!" The little calm she had seemed to have collected went away. "You are just envious of my relationship with Samuel."
"How can I be that when it is he that has black mail us? I have protected you, I kept it from you, since I knew your feelings for Samuel." Orlando looked around, making sure that they didn't have an audience. "I think it is he that is envious of us. That you have found someone else. That he lost his hold over you."
"What are you saying? Have you kept more things from me?" Misty went silent when more of what Orlando told her sank in together with what they had live through the latest months.
Three months earlier her life and Orlando's had gone from good to worse. Very personal things for them both had been published, things that shouldn't have left the house. Since Misty and Orlando been a couple for closer to a year they had started to plan for a life together. To be on the really safe side they had been to a clinic and tested themselves. It was their result that had been spread and started large writing around the world. For Orlando's part rumours had begun of he would not be man enough. Some of the tabloids had tried to smear him by made up girlfriends and their disappointment of his sex life. It had taken a month for his publicist to correct the things. The source to that the story started back then she had thought must have come from someone on the clinic. The whole thing had made her unable to trust people. She wasn't sure of Orlando after the result got loose, so she felt it was like everyone accept Samuel. Samuel had been with her as long she could remember, always the one that looked out for her, comfort her and support her. That he had done this time as well. He had always given more affection and support when things around her seemed to worsen. He had made himself indispensable for her.
She sank down on her knees. The truth overwhelmed her. She put her hands over her face. Orlando had to tell the truth that it could not have been anyone else than Samuel that went to the papers. Understanding that she suspected there might be other things he had done to her.
If Misty wept earlier, now she really wanted to do it. Do it for her blindness towards who Samuel actually was. Though there where no tears. She felt numbed. Everything was so complex.
Orlando had taken the last step to her, kneeled and hugged her.
"I'm sorry." He whispered in her ear.
"No. That's me that should say sorry." she hiccupped. "You right… I don't hate you."
Misty raised her head to meet his eyes. Orlando took his hand and dried her tears, then took hold of her head and kissed her.
