(no subject)
That cute little 'bot of Lily's is back in the Nexus, but this time she's with him, fussing with the lapels of his coat and trying to get his hair to lay down flat as they chatter away happily to one another. They look like they're getting ready to go somewhere, or do something important, and they don't seem to have noticed where they are.
Cubia notices first, and tugs his owner's hand a little, stopping her in midsentence. "Um, Miss Lily..."
"Hm?" Lily looks up, notices the Nexus around them. "Oh. Rats. Did I hit the PINpoint button again by mistake? Oh well, it's easily fixed and we still have plenty of time."
"Yes, we do, but--"
"No buts, Cubia, I've been meaning to ask a question anyway." And after straightening Cubia's tie, Lily turns to face the Nexus in general and smiles at them. "Hypothetical situation, honestly, but it's got me curious. If you came to depend on something, what would you do if it was suddenly taken away from you?"
Cubia's face goes apprehensive and pale. "Miss Lily, you aren't planning--"
"Hypothetical situation, Cubia."
"Oh...you meant that." Sigh. Cubia is pretty sure by now he's never going to get the hang of fleshie humor, snark, sarcasm or whathaveyou. "Sorry."
Lily impulsively hugs Cubia close; she's knelt in front of him, so the motion squishes his face into her chest. "Don't worry, little one. I'm not going to give you up for anything."
"I - I know, Miss Lily," he mumbles into her chest, and hugs her back after a minute.
Aren't they cute.
