As it turns out the Swearing-in ceremony was in Kaedi, not Nouakchott, so I did not have access to a scale. However, due to medical problems (see a later post) I came to Nouakchott last Monday and was able to weigh myself ( Read more... )

Do you mind random readers? I wandered in here from giggs106's friendslist. I'm teaching in Japan now and am likely applying to PC in a few months. Before that, I'm trying to read as much as I can. Plus, I met some volunteers from Mauritania a couple years back and it sounded like such an alien place to live. I find the nothingness intriguing.

Hi there. I sent you a letter a couple weeks ago, but I realized afterwards that I forgot to tell them to put a Par Avion sticker on it. Oops. So hopefully you will get it soon. If not then you'll get it....um...eventually I guess. Anyway, hope all's well.

Durn, I wanted that prize. Actually, for reasons that I may disclose later, what're the chances you could send me a pebble? At any rate, I'm relieved to hear that you're keeping to a healthy(?) weight...

Also, could you provide an updated list of care-package requests?
