This Semester:

Microecon- B+. This class has been pretty good; my second time around taking it, basically, so not much was new. I got a B on the first midterm and an A on the second, so I'm assuming the two will average out, ish, for the final. Could go either way, though. 3 credits.

Sosc- B+. Though this has the potential to be an A, depending on how the group project went/how the second midterm went/how the final will go. Overall, though, I'm feeling that I'll get a B+. 3 credits.

German- A. I just got back my second midterm, and I got a 100.5/100 on it. Yay extra credit...definitely no worries there. 3 credits.

Choir- A, duh, GPA inflation! 1 credit.

Women's History- B. I've gotten two B+'s on my papers and I got a B- on the midterm. I'm assuming I'll get somewhere in the B range on the final (plus perfect attendance/good participation..) And, unless the fates swing dramatically one way or the other, I'll end up with a B. 3 credits.

total = 13 credits.

Edit: Actual grades were A, A-, A, A, and B+.

Next Semester:

-Love Under Socialism (German): Trying to get out of this class and switch into Intro to Women's Studies. It won't be a problem if I end up doing it (it's with the same German teacher I have right now, who's a sweetheart and an easy grader.) I just think there are better things I could be doing with my time. Like Women's Studies. 3 credits either way.

-Choir: see above. 1 credit.

-German 207 (Culture): the prof. happens to be the head of the department, and people seem to like her. This should be quite a bit more difficult than the German level I'm in now, but in a twisted way I'm looking forward to that. Only thing I have against this class is that it's at 9:30 in the morning, across campus...3 credits.

-Women's History, pt. 2: it's a good class, I like the Prof, but I'll probably get a B in it again. 3 credits.

-Freshman Seminar, Early Stories in Judaism: Taught in the Wren, the class description interests me, and the teacher doesn't seem to be bad. Lots of writing, though--which could be good or bad, really. I'm telling myself that it will be good considering I'm thinking I want to go to Grad School :P. 4 credits.

-HOPE (Health Outreach Peer Educators): I'm really looking forward to this class. I'll be learning about health issues that interest me (STDs, depression, alcohol and drug abuse)...the people I know who have taken it liked the course and said it was very laid-back. Should be good. 3 credits.

Total = 17 credits.

13+17+20(credits from HS) = 50 credits, more than 3 semesters' worth. Rock.

A couple of other random things:
-I went to church twice over Thanksgiving break and I actually sang the hymns. It felt good.
-I brought back a bunch of books with me to tide me over during the next 2.5 weeks: The Bellmaker, Mossflower, Salamandastron, Loamhedge, Sons and Lovers, Naked. I'm almost done with one of them, so let's see how long the rest last me... :P
-I see David in 17 (almost 16!) days for the first time in 4 months.
-It was really good to see people over break. Jana, Courtney, Alice- :D. Rosie's party was also great, though apparently I left before things got memorable. Good to meet you, Dan :). Also good to see other Dan, spend Thanksgiving with Kay, get some snow (!!), drive again, and catch up with my parents.

Very grounding and calming to be 'home', whatever that is.
