"We're going to London to shop for a wedding dress and a like, maid of honor or whatever dress. Do I need other ideas? I mean, I can have them if you want but usually people start telling me to stop having ideas some time after the midget strippers come up."
She looks thoughtful.
"They might come in handy during the shopping, though."
"Actually, I know where there's a place that you'll probably be able to find..."
She trails off, eyeing the look Susan's giving her.
"...But dresses first. Yes."
She reaches through the group, and turns the doorknob. The bar is suddenly flooded with the sounds of city traffic, as the door swings open to reveal Piccadilly Circus.
She'd not moved too closely to the door until now-- Susan knows where it leads for her, say true.
(the clearing)
But as the noise and bustle of the city comes through, she takes a step, then another -- eyes wide as she looks -- and then oh, but the smile that spreads across her face is bright and shining.
A city. A real city, seen in daylight and not someone else's memories,
(Gilead-that-Was)
and for a moment, she is lost in simple delight as she contemplates it.
