Haha, oh man ... were all the topics so hot-button or did you just get unlucky? XD

I've never read Paolini's books but I've read a lot about them and, more often than not, I stumble on the whole stealing issue. I've read he's taken certain things from Star Wars as well, but I've never seen the movies so I can't personally comment on that (or LotR, really; I've read the book but didn't enjoy it so didn't pay much attention). I think it's all because he was fifteen when the first book was written.

Haha, what people are calling you a bookworm? Nuts to them. XD

Aha, actually it was more lucky than unlucky. It'd have been even worse had I gotten "Which is the ideal country to migrate to?" simply because I know nuts about that and haven't got anything much to say on that.

YES. The whole stealing thing. Or should I say plagiarism (I say this word so frequently because I've had my lecturers drum it into us). The Star Wars thing was the farm boy-hero, as well as being the son-of-a-bad-guy-who's-right-hand-man-to-evil-king twist. And others.

Yeah, well, that's why I think it's overrated. I think any other good teenage writer could have done that, not just him <.<

My relatives. And some friends *sigh*

I'm trying to find 'Tales From Earthsea' but no such luck here. If only there's a Kinokuniya... ;_;

That is an interesting topic you got and rather ethically challenging as well. I believe that if a person has no hope of ever waking up, then it's time to pull the plug and let them go in peace. Better than to prolong the agony for all sides. I know I sound really cruel but isn't it better to end the suffering than to drag it on and on for years?

Better to read more than to loiter around town like those kids who lepak around the shopping complexes and spend their time at arcades. Don't mind them who called you a bookworm.

LOL. For me, I seem to find "Tales from Earthsea" where I go. My school library has it, and some other libraries I frequent have them too.

Totally agree. And it isn't cruel, really. Why prolong someone's suffering when you can end it?

Haha, yes, I suppose so :D Don't those kids have anything better to do???

i read a lot of books too, but no one's ever called me a bookworm to my face. The closest i got to that was yonghuan saying 'you always read books' and my jc friend saying i look like a nerd.

Reassure me again that i dont look nerdy?

anyway i have a friend who loves books too, but she isnt classified as a bookworm *shrugs* maybe cos her social life is good enough.

Oh yes, no, you aren't nerdy. If it means anything to you, I think you're cooler than me :D

I don't have that much of a social life, but I couldn't care less :P

tsk i couldnt edit my reply.

I realised that Eragon was a copycat long ago. EspeciallY StarWars, next thing u know, the bad guy will say 'i am your father'. But i have a feeling that its the good guy borm. And the guy weeping himself to sleep just coz a girl rejects him is so yucks.
And the author actually signs off his newsletters with 'May your swords Stay sharp', it irks me everytime. 'May the force be with you' is the only parting words i'll ever acknowledge.

But i'll still read it though. im a sucker for fantasy and dragons. Maybe we can watch the movie when it comes out decemeber 13th at vivocity?

LOL. I just delete and type out another one when I get it wrong XD

O.o I thought you might freak at me for saying "Eragon" is a copycat. Whew. Yeah, then will come the twist that Brom is Eragon's father. Predictable. And he just can't give up on Arya, can he? Dude, don't give up a forest for a tree!

XD You subscribed to the newsletters too. Me too XD I don't really mind the greetings though.

I'll probably read the next book. But then I'll be looking for the purple prose-y parts and copying instead of just reading *evil* I'm having my Common Tests from 11 to 15 of December -_-

Hmm...I bought Eragon and Eldest but I gave up reading Eragon when I was halfway through. Boring & unoriginal.

"Quality of life wins over length of life" <-- Agreed.Heehee. I like your view. Spending money on the terminally ill, I think it depends on who's spending the money but I shan't dwell on that since your talk's over.

Anyway, what's wrong with being a bookworm? It's cool! Geek is cool dudette! I wish I'd the motivation to read that many books, yeah. It's a very healthy and good thing.

& yesss I'm back!!!!

Oh. Does that mean that you didn't read "Eldest" as well? Lol, yes. People just keep comparing it to LotR, but it's really more like a rip-off from it.

Yay. I got supporters. XD

Oh, I dunno. Maybe people think it's geeky. But geek is cool...I'll bear that in mind :D And it's not very healthy for grades. I spend too much time reading and neglect my revision XDDD

Welcome back! Wheeeee~
