So here I am again, trying out that posting thing

As you may have noticed from my last post--I ficced! It felt pretty good getting a story out, even if it was a pretty short story. But, in a new fandom! Pushing those comfort zones, eh?

I do think the therapy is helping with my anxiety; just by going and knowing I'm doing something about it has helped calm the nerves to some extent. Still, not really enjoying work, even if I don't outright dread it.

Therefore, I have signed up to take the state office exam. I took it many years ago in order to apply for various state positions, and ended up here at UW. While I qualify for permissive transfer to various positions, there just aren't that many opening up. In order to apply for other jobs on the open employment list (that aren't transfer), I have to have taken the state office exam within the last year. So, all signed up for that for a Monday night after work.

That's just one of the things I put on my list of "things to do" that was a result of one of my therapy exercises. I had to list things to do in the next four weeks, the next four months, and the next two years. For the four week goals:

• Take the state office exam
• Exercise 10 minutes daily
• Write 30 minutes daily (fiction or non-fiction)
• Apply for 5 jobs (which is why I signed up for the state office exam--more options)

One down and the others are ongoing. Some of those may get amended--mainly the writing one. Thirty minutes may be unrealistic, but I want to get used to writing at least once a day that isn't posting to a board or updating Facebook, blah-blah-blah.

That's the plan for now. I'll post the four month goals as time goes on and I see how the four week goals are going!

writiing, therapy, job search
