Sailor Moon Giveaway Ideas?

Jun 19, 2011 02:56

Hey, guys! Long time no see... I'm conscious of the fact I keep posting but not reading any of my friends' journals, which is because my internet is capped at the moment so I can't load my FList... but when it picks back up again, I'm really looking forward to getting back into LJ ( Read more... )

This would be super expensive but it would be awesome to have a tshirt with Usagi's bedspread on it as a print.

Damn now I want one.

Actually, I know there are some websites that will print custom fabric based on your designs... I wouldn't do it for this contest, but it would be interesting to offer the pattern for people to make their own clothes. Sites like Spoonflower don't have a minimum order and look affordable enough... but yeah, too expensive (and time-poor) for this contest.

I can give away a free fanart commission (though nobody seems to want those from me, but by gosh, I'll offer it anyway)

You do those? My goodness, why I have I not commissioned you yet? (Probably because I have no moneys, but that has never stopped me before!)

Man, I'd be all over this prize package. I mean, Hikawa Shrine amulet? Holy shit. But since someone other than me may theoretically win it, uh...

Mameluna! Little bookmarks? Stationary (you could draw just one page and make a bunch of photocopies). Uh. The Tuxedo Kamen puppet that Mamoru makes for Chibi Usa.

Ahaha! I don't actually do real commissions... because adding actual money into the equation makes me way too nervous. So actually, the only "commissions" I do are for free... But really, I'd be happy to do mate's rates for you. If you ever think of something you'd like drawn, I'd be more than happy to give it a shot ( ... )

Your icon. It is beautiful.

There is only one thing I'd want drawn, and it's the thing I always wish to have drawn, but figure no SM artist would be into it. Endymion/Kunzite. My OTP, forever and ever. If you ever feel so inclined to sketch such a thing, I would love you forever (like you don't have my undying love already).

No really, that gift basket sounds amazing. And runner up prizes! Yay!

Oh yeah, you asked about format. I like the idea of some kind of combined raffle/competition thing, so it's fair but more likely to go to someone who appreciates it. You could maybe pick your top handful of favorite submissions and draw those out of a hat?

HAW, how have I not shown you it before? I'm pretty sure you're the sole reason I made it. xD ( ... )

Well, when I was a little girl, I absolutely HATED wearing jeans and skiivies because I felt so claustrophobic in them. And then my parents found the solution! My dad ironed on Sailor Moon images to the skiivy and he did something Sailor Moony with the jeans but I don't remember what, I think it was just a crescent moon, but it totally worked and I wore them like EVERY DAY in winter! And it's really inexpensive, too. You just print your image on a special kind of paper you can buy at like... Big W or K mart or something, it's called like, iron paper or something like that, and buy a cheap tshirt and just iron it on!

Just a thought of course!

That amulet sounds SO FREAKING AMAZING!!! Plus, I'd totally love a commission, they're awesome prizes!

Yeah! I've been looking at that, too! I was wondering if getting T-shirts printed professionally would mean the designs would look nicer/last longer than regular iron-on prints, but if they're way too expensive and/or the quality doesn't look that different, I'll definitely see how some iron-on prints will go. At the very least it'd be a good way to do some quick mock-ups of the designs for the prizes, and then print a nicer T-shirt to give away...

Actually, I've thought about that (since baking/cooking is one of my hobbies already), but I decided against it for a couple of reasons; for one, shipping anything edible is going to increase the difficulty of shipping it out almost exponentially - from making sure they arrive undamaged, to customs and quarantine getting it out of Australia, and then the same all over again when it finally arrives in the winner's country.
The other thing is that I already have a Sailor Moon cooking blog called 3oclockfairy that has plenty of Sailor Moon-themed recipes, and I was planning to make, photograph + upload two new recipes at the same time. So rather than me sending them some sort of food, they'd have the recipe so they could make it themselves. So Sailor Moon does have some recognisable candy treats, but I'm... already doing something else with them, kind of? Mostly it's the fact that shipping any sort of food outside of Australia would be a nightmare ( ... )

Yeah, Australia is incredibly anal whenever it comes to sending food overseas... or anything, really. But more than that, there's no guarantee that the food would arrive in any sort of edible condition. Last time a friend of mine sent something here it took two months to arrive. Yikes.

Haha, I guess I just assume everyone knows it's me 'cause I shamelessly pimp it out here whenever I have the chance. xD But thanks!
