Sorry I haven’t been writing, but life has become … interesting.  (And that’s “interesting” by Sailor Jim standards, too.)

My diet has been radically changed in an attempt to better control my diabetes and I’m now living on around 1500 calories a day … 1500 pretty screwed up calories a day.  The only meal that hasn’t been overhauled is breakfast, ( Read more... )

Crystal Light is NASTY. I'd rather drink plain water, or water with a bit of lemon.

Good work getting your diet in order. I found that gluten-free made my life far far far better. So much so that I can eat pretty much whatever I want now as long as I stay away from gluten and dairy (the latter is a straight up allergy). I'm not saying go gf. Just commenting on how a diet change was good thing, even though it sucked at first.

Keep writing. :)

With regards to the color, my kid's pediatrician reassured me that anything earthtoned is fine. (brown, tan, green, yellow, etc)

With luck your blood sugar will stop running amok and you'll eventually be able to eat real food in moderation.

1500 calories, and most of it *yak* rabbit food with watery dressing? There are other vegetables than salad, you know. Sure, a salad every now and then is great, but I like my spinach cooked (steamed is best). Brussels sprouts, peas, green beans, spinach, mushrooms, carrots, cabbage, saurkraut, fine. But salad all the time? Yeccch!
