Character Name: Fluttershy

Species: Pegasus Pony
Appearance: Fluttershy’s appearance is more or less that of your average horse, aside from some very obvious features indicating her abnormality-namely, the pair of wings on her back and the silky pink mane and tail. Her body coloring is a pale yellow, with the cutie mark of three butterflies on her flank. Generally, she’ll try and hide her blue eyes behind her long mane, avoiding eye contact and looking generally shifty. Her back would be at about the height of a fully-grown adult man’s waist-too small for anyone of much weight to ride on her.
Personality: When first meeting others, Fluttershy presents herself as an overwhelmingly timid young pony, very quiet and uncomfortable, generally unable to raise her voice or start a conversation. She’d generally rather keep to herself and stick with who she’s already friends with than make new ones-not at all due to being stuck up in any regard, but simply because meeting new folks is difficult for her.
Even once she’s gotten to know someone, Fluttershy is still very quiet and generally quite agreeable, hating conflict or confrontation. She’s sweet and unassuming, though for the most part she prefers to spend time tending to her animal friends.
Her difficulty speaking up and desire to avoid conflict makes it easy to treat her like a doormat, at times, but if it’s for the sake of a friend, she’ll try and assert herself. How good a job she may do is up for debate. Worse yet is when she becomes truly frightened. Her timid nature makes it so she often can’t handle being faced with anything too overwhelming, or she’ll lock up and be nearly useless. However, if it comes down to the wire and she needs to defend her friends, she’ll find a way to force herself through her fears, for their sake.
History: Equestria is a peaceful, happy land, filled with all manner of creatures but primarily populated by ponies. Fluttershy herself lives in the pleasant little town known as Ponyville, which has been populated by the three main types of Ponies: Earth Ponies, Unicorn Ponies, and Pegasus Ponies, all of whom live as equals. Due to her slightly reclusive nature, Fluttershy lives a bit outside of town, in her own cottage near the Everfree Forest. She takes care of all manner of animals there, and generally is looked upon by the other ponies in town as the go-to pony for any animal-based needs.
By pony standards, Fluttershy’s life has been relatively standard, if not a tad sheltered. The greatest thing of note occurred when a dark-hearted pony, Nightmare Moon, tried to seal away the sun and lock Equestria in eternal night. Fluttershy, though frightened, went with her friends to find the Elements of Harmony, which could lock away Nightmare Moon. In their journey, it was revealed that they themselves embodied the Elements, with Fluttershy herself representing the Element of Kindness. Then they shot a laser beam of magic and friendship at Nightmare Moon to make her stop being a jerk. After that they pretty much forgot the whole thing and just continued on with normal everyday pony life.
Supernatural Abilities: Fluttershy’s natural talent stems from her ability to work with animals, to the point of being able to communicate with them. She can get along with most any animal she needs to, regardless of animal class-she cares for birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles all the same. However, she tends to work better with smaller animals, with a more agreeable nature. While Fluttershy is perfectly capable of reasoning with a dragon or a cockatrice, her timid and easily frightened nature make it more likely she’ll be overwhelmed, and become too scared to try it.
For the most part, Fluttershy’s talent with animals stems simply from her agreeable nature and willingness to reason with them, but she has a latent talent known simply as the “Stare,” which is essentially her staring down a particularly uncooperative animal into submission, though she doesn’t really have a whole lot of control over it.
Also she can shoot lasers of kindness or something? Not that she ever does or will ssssssso
Supernatural Weaknesses: While Fluttershy has no specific weaknesses to the supernatural, her fear of scary things-like, say, huge monsters-can be quite the crippling disadvantage in a city like Chicago. Her greater weaknesses will more than likely come from her complete confusion at a world not built to cater to pony sensibilities.
Natural Abilities: Being a Pegasus Pony, Fluttershy naturally is able to fly. However, she’s neither very fast nor nimble with her flight, and doesn’t have a lot in the way of stamina for long distances. When she’s panicked, her wings even tend to lock up and make flight impossible. Also, Pegasus Ponies are capable of walking on clouds as if they were solid ground.
