Just outside Ft. Leavenworth, and in the shadow of Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary, is a preserve for American bison. They were pretty far away, and they were lying down, but it was still neat since it was my first time seeing any live. Previously I'd seen a stuffed one at the Buffalo Museum in Buffalo, NY, and a metal sculpture in Aspen, CO.

Nice picture, Meggie.

You guys made a bug impact on Jacob. When Deb tells him he's coming over here, he says, "See Colonel. See Ummi. See Dave." Jake had a playdate with Carter while Deb took Rachel for her 6 month checkup and shots; long story short, Jacob was climbing and needed three stitches above his eyebrow. He's fine.

3/4 of the new Hardie=board siding is on the house. I've picked out a B.M. Colonial blue-gray. I'm having the front door painted red. They found nests of ants when they took off the front siding. Uncle Chris needed to cut down the bushes which were contributing to the infestation problem. I'll be happy to put some low boxwoods in, and some geraniums.
