They emerged by accident - they were on his friend's phone, which was lost/(stolen?) - and whoever found the phone posted them. Shane tried to scrub them off the internet and when that didn't work, they cleaned them up and posted them

Oh wow, I never heard exactly how the songs got leaked! I ended up digging the instrumental a lot more than I thought I would, and the next two songs, too, and though I've got some ~issues~ with the newest one, musically I think it's pretty fantastic. What are your thoughts?

I like the instrumental a lot, too! I'm kind of curious about what words are supposed to go with it, but I'm also totally cook with it just as it is. I think I'd actually like to get two finished versions, one with words, one without.

I also liked the two that came after, especially Lonely Moonlight.

The newest one . . . I have ~issues~ too, namely that it's incredibly manipulative and gross and ugh although yes, musically, I'm . . . warming up to it, I guess. I'm not sure how I feel about the trap beat.

(Mostly I feel like it has Trolly fingerprints ALL OVER IT and thus I kind of want to kill it with fire. I also think this is the grown-up version of the kid who wrote "A better kiss a better fuck baby you had me" and "you know it will always just be me" and that hurt, raging, posing child has become the misogynistic jackass he only pretended to be before. Like I said: ugh.)
