I always (well not always, maybe once or twice and this reminded me,) wondered if whales had a hard time getting it on, since they are you know, floating in water and can't really get the leverage to really get the sausage in the bun, if you know what I mean.

Leverage? Hmm. I suspect that momentum plays a big part in that; I mean, all the male has to do is basically aim correctly and swim towards the female. *whack* ... he's gotta finish the job before bouncing off though.
