my friend taught me the realllllyyyy basic of mahjong years ago, which I forgot all about it. the game always remind me of card game in thailand called slave. both games need good memory and wit to play (sure, you can just put down whatever and still win... a little), and the basic structures/ideas are similar as well. You should reg an actual username! It's the first link when signing in, "blahIDblahblah" something. You'll get a ID54598538-number (save this in notepad so you dont lose it) to sign in with, then you'll be able to save rank and scoring for main lobby!
Plus rewatch games you've played (you'll be able to view the other players hands too, so you can learn a lot watching how others choose to discard!)

http://arcturus.su/tenhou/ nice guide! You can check the ID and RANK part (I'm a 1 kyu /sunglass shine) You only get points and such in main lobby though, if you play in private rooms it wont register even if you win or lose (you'll be able to watch the games again tho)
