The same thing happened to my female last year. She lost half her body weight in a week or two and died within a few weeks after that of cancer. I'm not saying it's the same thing at all, but trying to give you additional information.

Suggest a sonogram to your vet. It might be a tumor in her intestine or something like that, like poor Psycho had.

I've been wondering but I really hope not. I'm trying to come to grips with the fact that she may pass. She's certainly not a young kitten anymore.
