If you are not watching The Good Wife, you should be...
Oh my god, you guys YOU GUYS. I just finished watching episode 4 of The Good Wife and… WOW. We are so used to hunting for scraps of femslashiness in fandom, and suddenly along comes this unassuming family/legal drama and it is just handing us scene after scene of awesome women being awesome together. Like most shows it's all in the subtext, but then sometimes it’s not and I have to pause and be like WAIT WHAT?!
I am of course talking about Alicia & Kalinda, who after only four episodes have had so many *moments* that I could totally write a ship manifesto right now (no really, I’ve started typing it up but I keep getting distracted by the pretty). A week or two ago I picspammed a brief introduction to Team Sexay, and sometime in the near future I hope to picspam their best scenes. I’m also mounting a growing argument for Kalinda’s bisexuality. Something suspiciously Sapphic is going on with our feisty investigator, and tonight we were handed two more clues. Mmm… reading between the lines, it’s what we do best ;)
OKAY, UM… did anyone else pick up on what I think the writers were hinting at when a woman answered Kalinda’s phone, and Alicia was all “Who was that??” and Kalinda replied “…Donna”.
WHAT THE WHAT.
Please, someone, what else are we supposed to take from this scene but that Kalinda has a ~*ladyfriend*~ at home? The Powers That Be were trying to tell us something, just look at the way it is filmed. Firstly, Alicia’s phone is shown with Kalinda’s missed call. So there can be no doubt that this is Kalinda’s personal phone, she’s not calling from the office.
Next and I think most importantly, the camera never cuts to Kalinda. Not once, unlike just about every other phone call they’ve had. This is all from Alicia’s perspective, so that we are as in the dark about Kalinda’s situation as she is.
"Who was that??"
The way Kalinda said her name really struck me. She could have said “oh, it was my sister” or “just my housemate”, but no, instead we get a name with no explanation - which is suspicious, in the best possible way.
Loved that Alicia's initial reaction to the name "Donna" turned into an eyeroll when Kalinda neglected to divulge any more information. Haha.
My second piece of evidence is that twice now Kalinda has flirted with women for information (that’s twice in four episodes - not a bad track record). And this time the woman was all disappointed when Kalinda ran off - and she was seriously cute! I hope you got her number, Kal. Whilst canvassing the neighbourhood for juror information, Kalinda tells residents she’s checking out property etc to try and sneak information out of them. We don’t see how it happens, but suddenly Kalinda’s enjoying a drink on the stoop with a cute, pixie-cut girl who seems more than happy to divulge all kinds of information to this hottie stranger.
Um, Kalinda.. SHE'S SO INTO YOU.
Look at that reaction to Kalinda running off, and tell me it isn't disappointment.
But unlike last time where Kalinda was flirty and indulgent, this time she’s pretty much all business. Let's hope she returned later to finish that drink. Actually, this occurred before the phonecall with Alicia, so for all we know this could be the mysterious Donna. I can has?
Although nothing compares with the smokey chemistry of these two:

OH! And one other important piece of evidence, is that once I started digging around into this I discovered a couple of small articles/reviews which refer to the character of Kalinda as "bisexual". Check them out here, here and here. But I can't find the original source for this information, and I can't find any mainstream mention of this. But doesn't that make it kind of pretty much almost semi CANON, BITCHES!! Thoughts? How has a kick-ass bisexual hottie slid under our radars and onto our screens? For shame, girls, for shame.
Meawhile, funniest part of the episode was competitive junior associate Cary practically plowing Alicia out the way to reach for evidence when Diane (who he's been sucking up to) requested it. Loved Alicia's reaction, and love Kalinda in the background keeping a sharp eye on him.
