I saw an image this morning, showing Shura depicted as a police officer. And it got me thinking about what the professions would be of the Saints if they lead regular lives. It even gave me a tiny little plot bunny.
I still wanted your ideas on the matter though, what do you think the Saints would have for profession if they hadn't been Saints.

If I had no limit for place and time, I'd say Deathmask is the manager of a nightclub. Mu is a teacher or a scholar. Aldebaran is a truck driver. Shaka is an antique seller, Milo is a doctor, Camus is a sort of engineer, Aphrodite is an image maker/look maker/stylist or runs an art gallery. The other gold saints do not inspire me anything in particular.
Shion looks like a chemist/biochemist. Shiryu is a technical designer. Ikki is in the army. Hyoga could be a part time model, Shun sells flowers or is a hairdresser.

Second: yeah, are we talking "they never became saints", or "everyone is alive and there seem to be no more bad guys to fight so they semi-retire/take on hobbies etc"?
If it's the second, all Shiryu (and apparently Hyoga and Shun) wants is to settle down and cultivate his plot of land. Seiya... I don't think Seiya has very clear ideas about his own future, to put it bluntly. He's a spur-of-the-moment decision guy, he won't know what to do until the opportunity is there. For Ikki, I once read a fic where he decides to apprentice himself to a blacksmith, and since then I can see him as anything else. Shun I think is the only one of the five who could get an education, and actually want one. I could see him as a doctor, someone who saves lives. And then he goes back to the island and whatever is left there to rebuild. Or there's that idol career Jabu suggested ;-)
The gold saints, I don't know, they seem too entrenched in who they are, you know? I mean, can you imagine Shaka gainfully employed as anything? Or ( ... )
