Her eyes are bright as she teaches her companions the point of their Transfiguration lesson, her bushy hair dancing as she talks animatedly.
She looks at me, smile painted delightfully into her eyes. The world slows as we regard each other, sounds evaporating before she's drawn away by Weasley's incessant prattling.

She's enveloped in the throng of pupils. She's one in a thousand, a part of a whole that wants her... I want her.

She passes Weasley, then Boy Wonder, and stops at my feet. "Go to your friends Hermione."
"No."
I stare at her.
"I may belong with them but you’re the person that I want to stand with." I gasp as she takes my hand. "Let me be here."
Somewhere, in a distant land, I feel that gods are smiling at me. My fingers tighten around hers. This is right.
