I think he wishes someone did that for him.
No, all Severus Snape gets is a pat of the back, exemption from tax and a get out of jail free card. I tried to give him my medal, but he refused, turning his back and entering Hogwarts smoothly.
Sometimes, I gaze at him with opened eyes and I see him, as he is. An unsung hero that books forget...
