How amazing was this episode?!
LITTLE AMELIA!
And the whole idea that instead of seeing psychatrists because she had the Doctor as an imaginary friend, she was now seeing one because she kept drawing stars.
THE DOCTOR ZIPPING AROUND TIME WITH THE VORTEX MANIPULATOR!
Just awesome. Also, the zipping effect was so nicely done. Well done there, special effects department!
RORY!
Oh my god, I was so indifferent about Rory up until this episode and now I just love him so fucking much, it's insane. The way even his Auton self is so fiercly loyal to Amy and how he punches the Doctor and he's badass for 2000 years, guarding the Pandorica and Amy and then when everything gets reset, he's still so amazingly wipped by her and how he's now totally willing to join the Doctor on his adventures. And just. Oh Rory.
AMY!
Mad impossible Amy Pond! I was so afraid something would happen to her! Well it did. But it worked out in the end, you know? Oh and I find the idea sort of horribly tragic, that the Crack has slowly been eating away at her memories her entire life. D: Now her not remembering the Daleks makes sense! I just reallyreallyreally love Amy, okay. Possibly my favourite companion. She's so snappy and in-your-face and she's so different from the other companions (well, Donna was awesome ad snappy too, but in a different way, because she was hiding her insecurities with that) and I love how she's impatient and sometimes harsh and keeps hitting on the Doctor even when she's married and how she loves Rory (the reunion scene, oh my heart) and how she loves the Doctor and how she cried because someone was missing and how she'll climb over her own wedding table, because.
RIVER SONG!
Oh man, I'm hoping so much that the next season will circle around who River Song is and who she's to the Doctor and everything, but then again I'm kind of sad, because I fear after that they won't have this awesome banter anymore, her and the Doctor, when Bad Stuff Happens. Also, I'm for the theory that she's the one who's going to kill him, but hopefully not really, because Matt Smith needs to stay around for much longer! But back to River Song. She's badass. When she was facing the Dalek and she was like Check your records! and the Dalek is like Mercy! Mercy!, makes you wonder, doesn't it, what the hell was in those records, that has a Dalek begging for mercy. And in the end! That she delivered the book to Amy to make her remember! And then with the Doctor! Oh boy, I hope the next season has lots more of her, even if their relationship goes tits up.
THE WEDDING!
I loved the wedding, okay! The doctor appearing, conventiently wearing a tux! And dancing! The Doctor dancing! In a completely brilliant Matt Smith-esque way, of course! :'D And Amy just cracking up over it. And then the way the Doctor was watching her and Rory dance. Just. Asdfghjk okay.
THE DOCTOR!
The Doctor. Oh, the Doctor. I don't even know ehere to begin. The Doctor dying? Twice, basically? Fezes are cool? (AMY AND RIVER DON'T AGREE) Sacrificing himself? Oh yeah, let's start with that, actually. Up until Ten actually sacrificing himself, we'd had lots of situations like this, where the Doctor is ready to sacrifice himself for some greater good and then some sidekick/wonderful guest star/whatever manages to miraculously take his place and the Doctor escapes mostly unharmed. But not this. I mean, this was the real deal, the Doctor did what he had to do the save the universe. Also, beautifully shot, the entire sequence inside the Pandorica. Also, Matt Smith is a genius actor. When the Doctor was going backwards through his own timeline and then he just ended up sitting at Amelia's bedside and in a way, telling her one last bedtime story, about the brilliant box that travels through time and is the bluest of blue. And he was practically crying there and then going Oh I think I'll just skip the next part, all defiant and amazing and then his voice cracks when he adds I hate repeats. Oh Doctor.
And just. In general. I am so incredibly happy that Moffat took over. I was losing interest in this show so badly, I would probably have stopped watching, if it hadn't been for Eleven and Amy. ♥
FEZES ARE COOL, OKAY!
