I think my doctor is not thrilled with Kaiser practices either. After I had calmed a bit yesterday I called and scheduled an appointment with him this morning, to which I took all the information the dentist gave me. Apparently this was a good move, since he put in a request for a "Referral to an Outside Entity". Which, he explained to me, meant

That's the catch with being insured with Kaiser. They are great, as long as you aren't sick and don't need anything other than a cursory exam. Once there is something out of the ordinary, then it is conflama and jumping thru many, many hoops to arrive at the same conclusion that was presented at the start.

Good for your doctor for being your advocate. In the meantime, it's just sucky that you have to wait for things to move forward. Here's hoping that approval comes quickly.
