Got to see four grandchildren on Christmas. It is SO hard to decide between visiting with children and playing with grandchildren when the time is so short.
Kyrie visited for a few days after Christmas. First, she hung out at the library because I had to work Tuesday afternoon. Then we went grocery shopping for the ingredients for some cupcakes from the cookbook she got for Christmas. Then, on Wednesday we went to see "Ice" at the Gaylord Texan. It was great, but not as great as going out to eat with Kyrie, Matt, Jay and Vee that evening. I had to take her home on Thursday afternoon.
Lex was going to come over on New Year's Day, but didn't make it. He did come over on January 2, though and got to stay through church on Sunday. I love it when that happens.
Yesterday, I got to keep Lex AND Maude for a few hours. Wow, keeping two kids is a lot harder now than it was when I was younger. Of course, it doesn't help that I want to spend every minute with BOTH of them, and that's impossible given the difference in their ages. In the afternoon I took Maude back to her parents and then Lex helped me recycle tin, aluminum, plastic, cardboard and paper. When I couldn't get the cover of the paper container back on, Lex prayed that the wind would stop. Instead, the Lord made me stronger so that I could get the cover pushed back where it should be. (Can't let a kid's faith down.) Then Lex and I shopped for a booster seat, so now I own a baby seat and a booster seat. I may not have kids, but I'm now prepared to transport grandkids (at least two).
