Aug 30, 2008 14:32

Hello, long-abandoned community! This is your friendly co-mod speaking.
Since Nessa seems to have disappeared off of the face of Earth since May 19th, 2008, I am going ahead and posting the voting for Week 8: Party Time.

Vote for one icon only.

Party? Party! )

vote, week 8

Though I am not a member nor a contributor, I think those who submit icons should be able to vote her their own entry....esp. if it is the best.

Rrrreally? And how do you figure that?

Well as I see it if you submit an icon and you vote (for someone else) but the others who also submit do not vote then that is technically one more vote against yourself, thus voting but not for oneself actually puts you at a disadvantage unless everyone votes.

Its just how I see it. I am a member at saiun_challenge and what they do is vote for the top 3 and assign points 3 for 1st 2 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd and then tally all and the highest number wins (this means that you can safely vote for yourself or not and the odds will not be stacked up against you)

I dont mean to offend though just stating how I see it^^

I'll tell you how I see it.

Voting for oneself is not really fair. It's rather selfish, actually. Of course, when it's all about winning, everyone wants to come out on top.
However, while one might think their icon is the best among the ones submitted (I should know, I've thought that several times), other people have different views. So imagine my surprise when my icon didn't make it on the list of winners.

To make a competition like this fair, you have to give an objective vote. That's why you aren't supposed to know who made which icon or vote for yourself ( ... )

Do I include a reason?

Only if you want to. It's not mandatory.
