As the second mod (who should have taken over much sooner; sorry for leaving this community in such a dead state for so long), I have a few things to address
( Read more... )
I hope we'll get enough active people to keep this place afloat. It would hurt to see it die. =/
anything borrowed from other (non-English) countries Could you, please, expand on this thought? I'm not entirely sure what you meant by that. And thank you for the suggestions. I'll start building a list of themes if enough people come out of the hiding. ;D
I wanted something like titles or quotes or lyrics from songs, scripts, written fiction, and even non-fiction. Or you can Here's an example. I'm from the Philippines, so we have some stuff peculiar to our culture, like Jose Rizal's "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo" (these things were written in Spanish, we used to be a Spanish colony). You can take the titles, or find some quotes from that (I can help you since I have the Filipino and English versions of these. Or you can use concepts related to Hispanic culture, like "fiesta" and "coming-of-age" (not necessarily quinceanera). v^_^v I hope you get the idea. :3
At least, I'd be willing to submit icons/vote (except when I'm sometimes too braindead to make anything suitable for the week theme) ^^~
Suggestions... like, theme ideas? Song lyrics and titles are nice, yes; maybe we can consider other standard themes too, like non-English language, hush, one-eye, monochrome, black&white, image themes, character themes, etctetc...
Oh, and maybe affliate with tcg_exchange too though I'm not sure if they'll accept the request!
I've been thinking about putting the submissions on a two-week deadline. That way, people would get more time to figure something out.
I guess I should put up a theme suggestion post or somesuch. This community seems to be in a dire need of themes that are easier and not something way out there. Of course, advertising it around would help a good deal as well.
I've been thinking about affiliates as well. I'll take a look at that one. Thank you~ ♥~
I've been checking back regularly to see if our main mod has come back to yell at us prod us back into activity, but alas!.
I've seen several communities have two-week deadlines. It seems to be quite good for low-activity communities. Longer time for submission, more reminders, more chances to find a few free minutes for making and submitting an icon. Of course, I'll ask the participants about it when/if I get enough people to post week 10.
According to saiunkoku, I wouldn't say it's a low-activity fandom. We should be able to function normally. =/
I'd be happy to see the community continue, of course, but I feel kind of guilty, since I have not and am not planning to contribute aside from voting and providing raw images for people who want to make icons. Not horribly conducive to keeping the place afloat, alas . . .
And I've been thinking of creating an image gallery for future participants. If I make a resource post in the future, would you like to add yours to it?
That'd surely be helpful! I don't have much SaiMono images (as compared with other series) so something like a resource post/image gallery will be nice <3
I'm up for making and voting because SaiMono deserves much more love than it's getting and it would be nice to find icons that actually take my fancy. But I think it would be best not to count me in until I get the internet on back home, I'm only online on Sundays at the moment. :/

Song lyrics, titles of fiction and non-fiction work, and anything borrowed from other (non-English) countries would be nice.

Not too sure about the two-week deadline - it may drag things out longer & people may lost interest if things are too slow-paced? ^^;;
Or rather, is it because this series isn't popular enough? >___>
