The current Fairy Tail arc is starting to get really interesting now, mostly because of the big question:
Why can't Natsu get through the barrier?
Blah and I talked about this a bit and we have a couple of theories:
1. He IS over the age limit - he was raised by a dragon and dragons are ageless, he could be a LOT older than he looks, and being Natsu, he probably hasn't been counting (hence the "Am I over 80 years old?" bit).
2. He is a statue - I couldn't figure out how this could work, but Blah suggested he's part-golem, and that should be enough for the spell... and might be the reason for that rule being there, since none of them were trying to carry the girls out, were they? It did seem odd to me that he bothered to put that rule in in the first place, but if it's specifically to keep Natsu in because... because a golem, being already stone, can't be petrified? And therefore Evergreen wouldn't be able to stop him?
Or else there's a third rule that hasn't been revealed, but for Mishima to throw in NOW that the spell can hide conditions like that would seem like cheating, and it's less interesting than the other possibilities, anyway.
Either way, we're gonna learn something important about Natsu soon....
Also, anyone else think it's interesting that we have Gorgon-ish stuff going on in both this and One Piece at the moment...?
Also, the poll on the cover? I'd definitely be voting for Erza. XD
