I'm a bit disappointed that Rangiku and Hinamori were taken out so quickly, and had to be rescued by the guys... but it's good to see Shuuhei and Kira have that conversation, and Kira beginning to get back his faith in himself, and his balance, just like Hinamori in the last few chapters. A vice-captain to one of the traitors must be the hardest thing to be in Soul Society right now, so that they even can come in and join this fight now...
Would they have been able to fight against the captains directly, I wonder, though? Probably not.
And Yamamoto-soutaichou! So looking forward to seeing him kick arse next chapter.

Poor Chouji... he must have been so freaked-out thinking his father was dead... *hugs Chouji* But what does Tsunade's silence on Kakashi mean? That he really is dead? That's how I took it, but that glimpse of White Fang before was so odd... although if he's "dead" and going to be sent back, she wouldn't know it... or is he in a coma that she thinks he'll never come out of?
And Konohamaru wants to fight so he'll be worthy of Naruto! Such a contrast to the start of the manga... and yet another sign it'll finish soon, along with that montage of the villagers' changing view of Naruto that we had before - he has the respect and recognition of the village now, after all, and that's what he wanted to begin with.
So, does anyone think the conversation between Pain and Tsunade is actually going to happen next chapter, or will it be drawn out for another month like the Tobi and Sasuke one?

And Alvida is nearby! She has to change her mind and go to Impel Down and meet Boa! I mean, really, does anyone NOT want that to happen? The two women that every unnamed character who sees them falls in love with? I was just thinking the other night how awesome it would be to put Alvida and Boa in the same room and see how they react to each other, and they're near each other now! Go back, Alvida! Save Buggy! Punch Boa (or kiss her, either's good)!
Luffy is actually scared. Of a place. That's a pretty big thing in itself... maybe he'd react with more of his usual enthusiasm if Ace wasn't trapped in there, though. I wonder...
And who captured Buggy? Someone who didn't make a big deal out of it, it seems, but I want to know if it's anyone we know...
The Marines didn't recognise Buggy's flag! HAHAHAHAHAHA, poor Buggy! XD
Impel Down itself is freakin' creepy... and did I see what I think I saw? Do people really get fed to the leopards for fighting? O_O
Hm, and Ace already knows about his father and hates him... interesting... I want to know what his mum did that he feels so indebted for... saving him from his father in some way, maybe? And I wonder if she's still alive... Good to have his name explained, though - whether Luffy and Ace have the same mother or not, we at least have it confirmed that they share a father.
I didn't talk about 524 and 523 before, and there's a bit I want to say about that (hence the cut text for this one)... since we know now that Kuma does send people to the place they ask for (rather than the opposite, as some people were speculating), I want to know what each of them wanted? I mean, some of them make sense - Sanji wants a place with lots of women; Usopp would probably ask for somewhere dangerous where he could be a hero, and Kuma may not realise he doesn't actually mean it; Nami at the weather station and Franky at the Future Island make similar kinds of sense... as well as Chopper in a place with lots of animals and apparently not many humans... but what did Robin, Zoro and Luffy ask for? Zoro might have asked for somewhere with lots of enemies so he could get stronger, are there people still fighting in the ruins? (And yay for Perona coming back!) Robin surely wouldn't ask to go to a slave-island, would she? Brooke going to a demon-summoning island makes thematic sense, but, again, what's on this island that he would want (besides people who'll oblige his love of panties... that can't be it, can it)?
Oh, and Boa may have gotten better in other ways, but she's still unforgivable. The puppy and the seal are just proof that she would kick the kitten again. *whacks Boa over the head with something very heavy for hurting kittens*
