Honestly, I'm not sure what to do with this episode. It was all too rushed for my personal tastes.

...I wouldn't hold your breath. The FBI was under the administration of J. Edgar Hoover at that point in time and he was rather...fanatical on some points, like the Cold War, the Red Scare, and anti-Civil Rights iirc. Canton could very well have wanted to marry a black woman or someone that was pro-socialism or pro-liberalism in any way. I doubt that if he were gay (and I'm not sure if same-sex marriage was even a hope back then), he would have been touting it around by making snide comments to his fellow agents. That could possibly end him in jail. Really.

I did like the "Two of them fancied me" bit though. Squee of delight!

I love the backward foreshadowing here, and it puts her attitude in SitL into better perspective for meI need to rewatch those episodes like crazy now. I also want to do a watch of River's episode in the order she experienced them. Like the events of TPO/TBB happened before the Weeping Angels episodes (sorry, ep name blank
