I figure it's a bit of both. Most often in fighting games, the female characters are more swift than male characters, however weaker opponents. They are great practice if you use a slightly slower character in order to learn to counteract their moves.

But, as you get higher on the rank scale, the opponent pulls out more moves/combos and with a faster character, it can be more difficult to fight against.

I'm going to say it's a combination of both racist misogyny and feminism. Because sometimes it's just funny to hear the whine as you sock them in the face that one last time. Also, men like to oggle women in skimpy outfits.

I don't know wtf is the reason why you don't want to fight Elena, though. Unless you know her moves are brutal.
