Notes from the weekend
My car survived the 40K service this past weekend. The folks at the shop said I need new tires soon. I'll see what I can do after the holiday weekend. The service required killing roughly 6 hours. I finally got around to playing some Portal 2 co-op. Thinking with a second set of portals is a bit more involved than I expected. There were a few times where I deliberately sent my partner in science to his demise, but we made it through the first two chapters rather quickly. ASUS Transformer Review - FAQ Version
I am working on a review of the ASUS Transformer (TF-101, 16GB, no keyboard dock yet) that I'm hoping to have ready for initial posting next week. One more weekend is in the books. Thanks to illness last week, the time away from work was extended. Much of Thursday was spent resting at home. Thanks to a busy week, my copy of Portal 2 sat unopened for a full day after reaching my doorstep on Tuesday evening. Wednesday, I had just enough time to play a couple of levels on my PS3 before PSN lost a connection and the system's Steam client acted up. Another weekend is over with and work resumes. The prospect of a work stoppage is now in the past so it's business as usual. A weekend recap that feel between the cracks
More hanging out and around over the weekend. The lady friend and I went downtown for lunch on Saturday. Sadly, the restaurant we targeted had an obscene wait time, so we went to Nick's instead. Big Mike is still alive and well, it seems. To prove it, last Wednesday he rounded up the gang for dinner and drinks at Scotty's Brewhouse. It's one of the many places that are essentially B-Town staples but which I had never visited. The lady friend came out, too, meeting kaizokunoou for the first time. The weather was fairly nice for most of the weekend, including Friday when I went with the lady friend up to the outlet mall in Edinburg. It did rain while we were up there, but not until after we got done what needed to get done.
