I think I have come to the conclusion that my favorite kinds of social events are those that revolve around food (picnics, dinner parties, etc) - particularly if I am at least partially in charge of the creation of the food.  I think this is related to the fact that food has a tendency to make people happy and so when I am feeding people it makes

The whole process of impromptu concocting a menu out of what we happened to have in the kitchen and cooking together and sitting down to enjoy dinner was a lot of fun.

ME TOO! Eating together definitely makes people more sociable. I feel like most parties would be a lot better if they centered around muffins instead of beer. And everyone would be equally happy, because everyone likes food. :)
