Who: Kurenai and Shunsui.
When: Monday night.
Where: Kurenai's new place.
Warnings: Flirting and fluff, maybe a bit of something implied near the end.
Kurenai: Kurenai had spent the day cleaning and arranging the furniture in her new apartment, a rather stylish little place if she did say so herself. She had made sure to decorate her place in varying shades of red, white, and black - colors she found flattering both on and around her, and had lit a 'midsummer night' scented candle in her living room. All in all, the place was ready for a very pleasant night.
Checking her appearance in the mirror, she made sure that her dark pink and black brocade corset was covering just enough to still be safe in public, her black skirt cut to her mid thigh. She picked colors she hoped Shunsui would like, considering the goal tonight was to make sure he knew how missed he had been. She had strategically placed a French Maid outfit on a hangar in her room, having remembered something about one. Now, all she needed was the man himself.
Shunsui: Shunsui pulled up the familiar building, finding his usually vacant spot next to the sidewalk and letting down the kickstand. He was rather elated to hear Kurenai found a place of her own. Not that he minded her having a roommate, but it did mean that a certain amount of etiquette towards a roommate didn't have to be worried over.
The elevator dinged its way to the proper floor before Shunsui stepped out of it, slightly amused at his attire. Having posed for his army's banner with his diminutive general he was still dressed in a soft blue silken shirt and khaki slacks, pink militaristic bike helmet in hand. "Apartment four oh... six," he mumbled to himself, finally arriving at the desired door and knocking lightly.
Kurenai: Almost as soon as Shunsui had knocked, Kurenai was opening her door and stepping forward, laughing softly at his choice of attire. "Cute helmet, Colonel. Are you here to requisition supplies or for a date?" She couldn't help but poke a little fun at him, the idea of him and Itachi fighting in some sort of water war far too amusing to pass up.
Taking his hand, Kurenai pulled Shunsui inside and gestured around. "Well, welcome to my humble abode. It's nothing special, but it's mine and you're my first guest." She gazed up at him with a mischievous smile, moving closer to him and lightly kissing his cheek. She had missed him far more than she realized. "So, what do you want to defile first?"
Shunsui: He really was constantly amazed at how incredibly beautiful Kurenai was, and tonight was hardly an exception. His look of amazement quickly fell into a smirk as he glanced down to his helmet and back at her. "Maybe a little bit of both?" He made a point to slowly look her over with a suggestive grin. "I'm sure there's something you could contribute to aid our cause..."
Following Kurenai's lead into the door he looked around, his smile widening at receiving the kiss. "There are so many choices..." he said with a slight laugh, his eyes lingering on a few choice spots as he considered her offer, "I just can't seem to decide."
Kurenai: Kurenai laughed softly at Shunsui's comments, making a point to give a little twirl when he decided to ogle her. "Both, and something I could contribute, really? And what would you have in mind?" Taking the helmet from him and finding a space for it, she looked around as well.
"You know what? We have all night, so we don't need to decide just yet. Besides, last time I saw you we didn't talk much..." Kurenai blushed slightly as she remembered her behavior the other night. She smiled softly as she wrapped her arms around him. "It's been a hectic few days..."
Shunsui: Shunsui slid his arms around her waist, pulling her against him and stealing a kiss. "Well a colonel needs some R&R time, ya know."
He stole another kiss before smiling into her eyes, enjoying her slight blush. "No... we sure didn't. Not that I minded though."
Kurenai: Kurenai smiled up at him and nodded knowingly. "Ah, I see. And you feel I could help with this rest and relaxation?" She could think of a few ideas.
Stepping back, she pulled him over to her couch, sitting down and turning to face him. "I most certainly didn't mind either, in fact I quite enjoyed it." She wanted to bring up the recent divorce, but wasn't sure how. She couldn't just ask if he knew she had been married.
Shunsui: He grinned in agreement, enjoying these little word games they played. "I don't think there's a woman better equipped to handle such a mission."
Shunsui sat down next to her, idly wondering how comfortable the couch was when lying down. "I'd be saddened if you didn't. Not to mention rather disappointed in myself." He smiled as his eyes met hers, curious as to what lie behind them.
Kurenai: Saluting him smartly, she sat up straight and smiled. "Just give me my orders Colonel, and I'll come through with flying colors."
Kurenai relaxed, laughing softly as she looked up at him. "I doubt you have anything to worry about, you've never disappointed me." As soon as she said it she realized it was true, he really never had. Although, she was certain she had disappointed him on more than one occasion. "What are you thinking about?"
Shunsui: He laughed and shook his head a bit. "The war hasn't started just yet, soldier. Don't worry though, you'll be the first to know when we begin the debriefing," he said with a wink.
Shunsui leaned into the couch, finding a comfortable niche between the back pillows and armrest. "Just wondering what goes through the mind of an intoxicating woman such as yourself." His mischievous grin softened as the words slid off of his silver tongue.
Kurenai: Blushing at his words, she tried to recover her equilibrium by widening her eyes as if in shock. "Ooh, there's going to be debriefing going on? I can't wait."
Moving just a little closer, Kurenai tilted her head to the side as she grinned slightly. "Right now, I'm wondering the same thing about the incredibly sexy military man on my couch. Isn't that a coincidence?" She reached out, resting her hand on his leg. "Actually, I was thinking of how nice it feels to be free to do whatever I want..."
Shunsui: Shunsui raised an eyebrow at her, reminding himself not to be distracted by her cleavage. "A coincidence indeed..." he said softly, resting his hand on hers. "That is a liberating feeling... though I must admit a certain amount of curiosity concerning that." His grin had been replaced with a mild look of concern. Was she still with Itachi the other night? "Were you not free to follow your whims?"
Kurenai: Kurenai shook her head slightly as she shrugged, her fingers flexing under his hand. "That's the thing...I thought I was. I found out later that apparently I wasn't." She looked away, a strange feeling of tightness in her chest. "I seem to have gotten married without remembering it, but when I talked to Itachi he said we had been thinking about divorce anyway..." Her free hand reached up to rub her forehead.
Shunsui: Shunsui winced at hearing the revelation, his other hand meeting his face, almost mimicking Kurenai. "So... you were still married." He groaned a little and shook his head, trying to fight off the distinct voice in his head that seemed to take delight in reiterating what she had just said. "You didn't remember you were marr-" He stopped in mid-sentence and reminded himself why it was he picked her up from the hospital. "I had thought..."
Kurenai: Kurenai pulled her hand out from under his, clenching both hands in her laps. "The last thing I remembered was fighting with Itachi, and realizing what a huge mistake I made concerning you and apologizing..." She sighed, biting her lip as she looked over at him. "Shunsui, it's not your fault, and he didn't even ask. I'm the one who's to blame, I mean if I had known..." That was the thing though, the one person who she would believe didn't tell her until after.
Shunsui: He sighed deeply, resting his head against the top of the couch. A lot had happened since that apology. A lot that had been forgiven and forgotten about. He didn't particularly enjoy the returning memories. "How can you even begin to blame yourself? It wasn't your fault you didn't know, and it wasn't your fault nobody told you." The ceiling wasn't nearly as attractive as his hostess, but his eyes found solace in its simplicity as he tried to make sense of everything.
Keeping his head rested on the back of the couch he looked over at Kurenai. "He didn't ask... meaning... well, what did he say when you talked to him?" She was free to do as she wanted now... and here he was.
Kurenai: She shook her head, taking a deep breath and sighing softly. "That's the thing, both Deidara and Yoruichi said something, but I didn't think either was serious. I mean why would they know and not me?" She glanced over at him, her confusion over everything evident on her face. "I feel like it is my fault, because I didn't trust them and figured that because he didn't say anything it couldn't be true."
Stealing a peek down at her nails, she quietly answered Shunsui's question. "He said we had been married, we got tattoos instead of rings, but things weren't going well. Then he handed me papers, and I signed them." It had been that simple.
Shunsui: Shunsui grinned back up at the ceiling. Tattoos... that was rather fitting for Itachi. Tattoos could be hidden. Granted Shunsui didn't know the man very well, but he had never made any feelings for Kurenai public, so why would he bother with something as obvious as rings?
"So... that's it then?" It had sounded all too simple. He had been trying to convince her to leave the seemingly dead-end relationship ever since she told him there was one. Now that it had happened, it all seemed surreal.
Kurenai: Kurenai watched his face, trying to understand his reactions. She had been so worried that Shunsui would get up and leave, wanting nothing to do with what had once been Itachi's. She knew that she was damaged goods, eighteen years old and already divorced. Then she heard him speak.
"As far as I know that's it. He got the green form, and we both signed it, he said he'd file it, and then he helped me with some of my stuff." She almost didn't believe it herself, but then again she had to be reminded she was married as well.
Shunsui: Sitting up straight, Shunsui nodded his understanding. There was nothing more to be said about it. He looked over at her and smiled, lifting a hand and gently running it across her cheek. "That's enough of this awkward moment, don't you think?" He let his hand fall to her shoulder before sliding across her back and resting on her far shoulder, pulling her close to him.
Kurenai: At first Kurenai was shocked. There was really no other way to put it. She had just told him that she had been married but that somehow it had just slipped her mind, and he was absolutely fine with it? She allowed him to pull her close, twisting slightly to press herself against him. "Awkward was an understatement." She sighed. "Are you sure you still want to be here?"
Shunsui: "Am I sure?" He laughed lightly, inwardly asking himself the very same question. "You ask that as if I haven't been trying to get right here this entire time. I guess you wouldn't remember a fair bit of it though... but everything I said before your apology still stands." Shunsui nodded, half to himself, reaffirming his sentiments. "If you still want to cross the gates of heaven, if you still want to be my angel, then yes. I'm sure I want to be here."
Kurenai: If she was the type of girl who swooned, Shunsui would be fanning her at the moment. Instead, the only outward sign of how stunned she was existed in the subtle redness crossing Kurenai's cheeks. She blinked, resisting the urge to let her jaw drop. "I don't know what to say, I mean, that after everything you would still make that offer. I'd be a fool to decline, especially after I went through the effort of luring you to my new place simply to have to ravish me senseless."
Shunsui: Shunsui laughed softly, wondering just how much effort was put into luring him here. With Kurenai as the bait, it didn't take much convincing. "Then you accept? Then you're my angel," he interrupted the words with a gentle kiss, "and nobody else's?" She had practically said as much, but he wanted to hear it.
Kurenai: Kurenai was practically giddy, the awkwardness of earlier completely forgotten. Giving Shunsui a soft kiss in response, she smiled against his lips as she whispered her answer. "I'm your angel, and only yours, for as long as you'll have me." She kissed him again, deeper this time, before pulling back with heady sigh.
Shunsui: Shunsui's grin held more than just mischief behind its intentions, his free hand wandering lightly along Kurenai's side. His lips made found their way to her neck and earlobe, trailing a small path across her skin. "Much as I like your living room..." he whispered lightly into her ear, kisses mingled in with the words, "I can't help but wonder how the other rooms look."
Kurenai: Kurenai moaned softly, the feeling of his lips on her skin causing the idea to show off the rest of her place to Shunsui to cross her mind as well. "That sounds like a good idea..." She sat back, running a hand through her hair before standing and holding out her hand. "What room strikes your fancy, the kitchen, bathroom, or my room?"
Shunsui: Kurenai's moan sent a wave of desire over his body as he considered their next destination. He wasn't hungry, not for food at least, and he didn't have much intention of anything related to the word clean. That left only one option, much to Shunsui's delight. "Your room has piqued my curiosity..." Rising from the couch, he offered his hand to Kurenai.
Kurenai: Taking the offered hand, Kurenai began to lead the way to her room. She hadn't really done anything with it yet so it was just her queen sized bed, a mirror, and a closet, but she had a feeling Shunsui wouldn't mind. "I haven't really decorated it, and you can pretend to ignore the penguin plushies." She grinned as she pushed open the door.
Shunsui: "Ignore them? What kind of room would it be without flightless wonder birds here to welcome us?" Shunsui stepped inside, laughing a little at the idea before turning his attention back to his divine hostess, wrapping his hands around her waist. He guided her next to the bed, gently laying her down on it and resting on his elbows over her. "It seems you've got the essentials, and I'll make a point to see your room again when you're done with it." His breathy voice and smile betrayed how little he cared about the room at the moment.
Kurenai: Kurenai let out a surprised squeal when Shunsui laid her down on her bed. She smiled up at him, reaching up to run her fingers down his cheek. "I'll want your input, of course, so that I know you'll want to come back here." Not that she doubted that he would return, more like she wanted him to feel comfortable and welcome in her place. "Next time you'll have to show me your room, to make things fair." She pushed herself up to brush her lips against his, wrapping her arms around his neck and holding him close.
Shunsui: "I don't believe I've shown anyone my rooms just yet... guess you'll be the first." He eased more of his body against her, his lips and tongue deciding the slight brush with hers wasn't enough. Leaning to one side, Shunsui let his free hand caress Kurenai's cheek before moving to her neck, his fingers sliding into her hair and pulling her into the kiss. Tonight he'd finally make good on his promises. He'd take his angel through the gates of heaven, to an ecstasy she'd yet to experience.
