White Day Date

No warnings in this one. ^^

Shunsui grinned to himself, recognizing the Corvette in the driveway as he slowed down and parked next to it. He cut off the bike's engine and cringed a little, never particularly enjoying the sound of his baby suddenly being starved of fuel. He set his helmet on the seat and walked up to the door, pressing the doorbell and waiting for an answer.

Having heard the motorcycle pulling into her driveway Kurenai checked her lipstick one last time before heading to the door. She was dressed in a rather simple red off the shoulder blouse and black soft leather pants. Her favorite boots and light make-up completed the look, which she hoped her date would approve of. Opening the door with a slight smile, she gestured for him to come inside. "Hey, promptness. I like that in a date. I just need to grab my coat."

He smiled and stepped inside. "No hurry." His eyes followed after Kurenai as she went for her coat before moving on to the rest of the house. "Very nice..." he said to himself, only partially referring to the home.

Kurenai reached into a closet, pulling out a hip-length leather pea coat. Smirking as she pulled it on, she walked over to where Shunsui was looking around. "Thanks, I'll be sure to let my mom know you like her taste in decorating. She got the house and I got the car as 'Sorry I screwed up our happy family unit' presents from my dad." She shrugged, not really sure why she had mentioned that to him. Very few people knew about her family issues, she hadn't spilled a word of them to Itachi and yet here she was cracking jokes about it to Shunsui.

"Oh?" He raised an eyebrow at her, coupled with a smirk. "Seems like you got the better of the deal. Ready to go?" he asked, turning and opening the door he had just entered.

Kurenai nodded, humming slightly. "Oh definitely. He even pays for car repairs, which saves me a bundle." She tossed her hair behind her shoulders and stepped outside, holding a set of keys. She waited for him to exit before locking up, sticking the keys back in her coat pocket. "So, what's the plan for the night?"

"I know of a nice jazz club downtown... assuming such a beautiful woman wouldn't be too embarrassed being seen with me?" He grinned a little as he walked towards his motorcycle, reaching into one of the sidebags and pulling out a second helmet.

Taking the helmet with one hand, she put it on as she gazed at the motorcycle. "I love jazz, and the prospect of being seen out with you gives me shivers. Trust me, I've already had more fun with you in the past few minutes then I had the entirety of my last date."

"Please tell me you're joking," he said, throwing his leg over the motorcycle and steadying himself before holding a hand out to her.

Taking his hand, she mimicked his movements with ease and straddled the motorcycle comfortably. "I wouldn't lie to you, you're not a woman." She smirked, deciding not to offer forth details unless he asked.

Shunsui laughed and shook his head at her comment. "Well the list of reasons I'm grateful for being male continues to grow." He centered the bikes weight and turned the key, a proud grin spreading across his lips as he felt the Harley roar to life.

Wrapping her arms tight around his midsection, Kurenai laughed as they took off, loving the feeling of the wind and city rushing past her. She couldn't remember the last time she had laughed so easily without having made a mocking comment to somebody, and mentally chalked up a point for Shunsui. The night was young, and she was already enjoying herself.

He almost didn't want to stop driving, knowing her arms would leave as he turned into the club's parking lot, finding a spot and letting down the kickstand and cutting off the engine. "And here we are."

Sighing longingly as she felt the motorcycle stop, Kurenai climbed off and pulled off the helmet. "Nice ride, and the club looks good too. I hope I'm dressed right." She ran a hand through her hair, fluffing it out as she waited for him.

You look wonderful Kurenai, and you know it." He laughed a little and took her helmet, placing it along with his in the side bag. He stopped for a moment and looked her over with a grin, her outfit matching his own simple but decent attire: leather coat, a tucked in shirt, slacks, belt and boots; all black. He offered her his arm and moved towards the front door.

Linking her arm in his with a half smile, she looked up at him with laughter dancing in her eyes. "That's true, I do know how to dress myself, I just like knowing that my company for the evening appreciates the effort I've put forth for them." She blatantly checked him out, licking her lips lightly. "And you are quite adept at making the all black look dead sexy." Her voice was a low purr as she fluttered her lashes with a smirk.

He smiled down at her with a wink as they approached the entrance, then looking up and sharing a nod with the doorman as he stepped aside and opened the door for them.

She couldn't help but feel almost pampered as she smiled at the doorman, getting the distinct impression that being there with Shunsui warranted special treatment. She looked around, taking in the decor with a practiced eye pleased with what she was seeing. She was happy that years of disappointment allowed her to hide the amazement she was feeling, wondering how it was that somebody who barely knew her had figured out she would enjoy a place like this. For all she didn't know about him, she was able to see that when it came to the art of the date Shunsui was a master.

He led her to his favorite seat in the club, a quiet, almost private corner close to the stage but away from the other tables. Shunsui released her arm and stepped behind her. "Your coat, madam?" he asked in a light manner, waiting until she had unbuttoned it before helping slide it off her shoulders, letting his fingertips glide across her arms as he took it from her and laid it across an empty seat, followed by his own coat. "So anything in particular you'd like to drink?" he asked as he pulled out a chair for her.

Thinking for a moment, Kurenai smiled softly. "I've heard that you happen to know a lot about drinks, so I trust you to pick out something I'll enjoy." She wondered if he noticed the way she shivered when his fingers trailed across her arms, but she covered her thoughts by shrugging. "I figured tonight, I am in your hands. Whatever you think I'll enjoy I will try, just for you."

"In my hands?" He smiled at her, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "I think I could quickly learn to enjoy you there." He bowed slightly and turned away, walking towards the bar, smiling and waving to a few of the waitresses on his way. Shunsui leaned over the bar, laughing with the tender for a bit, glancing back at Kurenai on occasion. He shared a final laugh with the man before returning to the table, a satisfied grin on his lips. "Sorry about that, took a little longer than I had intended."

Kurenai was smiling, simply enjoying the general ambience and music when Shunsui returned. "That's fine, you looked like you were enjoying yourself, and you came back. I don't get jealous that easily." She wrapped a piece of hair around her finger, shrugging. "Besides, I liked watching you." She didn't add that she was thrilled to see that he was certainly not stiff or reserved.

A few moments later a waitress came by, setting two drinks on the round table. "Love Potion #3 for the lady, and your dry martini." Shunsui thanked her before turning to Kurenai. "Liked watching me? I'm glad the feeling is mutual," he said with a wink.

She blushed softly, thankful for the low light. "I'm hoping to go to college for psychology, so I get off on watching people." She smirked, amused by their exchange. "Of course, those who watch are the best kinds of friends.

"On watching people? Well hopefully that's not the only way... that'd make turning out the lights a bit of a problem." He took his drink from the table, having a few sips and setting it down.

Taking a sip of her drink, Kurenai laughed softly. "Of course that's not the only way, it's just how I amuse myself when I'm out and about. Actually, for my senior psych project I am actually going to be observing somebody and writing a psych profile of them."

"Sounds like fun. Have a target in mind yet?"

"Oh, a perfect one. The best thing is so far he has already shown signs of quite a few paraphilic disorders. I'm also thinking possible sociopathic tendencies. Still not sure though, I haven't spent enough time around him to judge." She took another sip of her drink, smiling. "This is good..."

"I'm glad you like it... peach schnapps, rum, vodka, blue curacao, splash of lime and cranberry..." He looked up a little, reminiscing as he read over the list in his head. "I made that one when I worked here a while back."

"Oh really? It's nice to meet a guy who is good with his hands." She tilted her drink towards him appreciatively before taking a sip.

"Thank you, thank you." He gave her a slight bow and a laugh. This woman was almost too perfect. Beautiful, intelligent, and more than willing to throw in her fair share of innuendos. His eyes trailed from hers to the stage, the soloist making his sax sing.

Kurenai found herself swaying to the music, her cheeks actually starting to buzz from smiling so much. She wondered if this was somebody's prize for being such a good little girl and covertly checked out Shunsui again. She had been really good lately.

Shunsui finished off his martini and set the empty glass on the table. His eyes rose from the glass to catch hers, his mischievous smile returning. "Has anyone told you how absolutely beautiful you are?"

She blinked, setting down her drink with a soft grin. "You'd be the first today. Might I compliment you on your fine taste?"

"The first today?" Shunsui shook his head in mock disappointment. "Bad dates, men failing to tell you how incredible you are... these are sad, sad times we live in." His mock frown spread into a playful grin as he looked back into her eyes.

The waitress returned to take his empty glass, giving him an excuse to tear his gaze away from Kurenai's for a moment.

Sipping from her glass, she could feel her cheeks growing hotter. Oh he was good, very good, and she hadn't been treated like this in a while. It was nice to not have to guess if she was stepping on any toes. "I wholeheartedly agree, but alas there is nothing to be done for it."

"No?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at her. "I think there may be a few rays of hope out there who could treat you properly." Shunsui found his eyes slowly wandering over her, taking in her slightest details.

The waitress started walking over again but he waved her off with a polite smile.

"How about we go to a place where one of those rays can shine a little brighter?"

Kurenai smiled, nodding up at Shunsui. "Didn't I tell you that anything you say goes? If you want to hit the road then I'm there, drive off into the sunset...if you want to drop me off then so be it." She stretched sighing happily. "Listen, before things go any furthr I justh ave to say that you are amazing. You have made me feel incredible, and well...just thank you."

"You have no reason to thank me. You are absolutely incredible, Kurenai, and should never feel any differently. I should be thanking you for gracing me with your presence this evening." He smiled into her eyes for a moment before standing up, picking up their coats from the seat next to him.

She stood, unable to stop herself from feeling as if she had quickly abandoned control in this situation. She thought briefly about things with Itachi, brushing the thoughts away as she smiled at Shunsui. "Such a gentleman, and if I wasn't so starved for attention I'd call you a liar."

"Unlike a certain person I know, I'd never lie to a woman," he said with a grin as he handed her the coat. He offered her his arm again as he walked towards the exit, waving to the bartender as they left the club.

She smirked, waving a hand dismissively in the air. "Well, we aren't married so there's another reason not to lie to you."

"That's very true, but you seem to think I'd dare speak a mistruth to you." As they reached his motorcycle he stopped and turned to face her. "I don't speak lies Kurenai. You are an amazing woman." He smiled warmly at her as he ran his fingertips just above her cheek, moving stray strands of hair from her face. "Even more amazing than I knew before this evening started." He let his fingertips linger before carressing her cheek gently.

Her eyes closed softly as she reached up to catch his hand in her own, smiling up at him sadly. "I apologize, I don't mean to constantly imply that you would lie to me, I just have never really had good luck with relationships." She took a moment to herself, nodding slightly. "I guess I just find this too good to be true."

Shunsui slowly moved closer to her, closing his eyes as his hand on her cheek pulled her gently towards him until their lips met, one hand continuing to caress her cheek while the other slid around her waist. He broke the kiss for a moment, keeping their faces close. "This is not too good to be true," he said quietly, his lips teasing hers as he spoke, "This is how you should always be treated."

Kurenai trembled as their lips touched, her eyes fluttering shut as she listened to him. She found herself gripping the front of his coat, at a total loss for words. "Thank you, again..."

Shunsui kissed her again, holding her in his arms before finally letting go.

"Come on, it's starting to get late." He fished the two helmets out of the saddlebags, handing her one and putting on his own.

Kurenai wondered what was wrong with her, amazed she had blushed so much in one night. Nodding, she put on the helmet, fixing her hair underneath. "Yeah, besides this night has to end on a perfect note otherwise I'll never sleep."

Shunsui smiled at her as he got onto the motorcycle, firing it up. He waited until she was on and situated before making his way down the road. The night had gotten a bit cooler since earlier, but he barely noticed with Kurenai's arms around him.

Resting her head against his back, she held tightly to him as she tried to make sense of the evening. She would have to go to church to thank somebody, because she was certain that regardless of what Shunsui kept saying she didn't deserve feeling this incredible.

He slowly meandered through the neighborhood, more than a little saddened as he came upon the cherry red corvette in the driveway. Bracing himself for a disappointed look, he turned off the motorcycle and set the kickstand.

Kurenai got off the motorcycle, pulling off the helmet and handing it over to Shunsui with a light smile. "Well, this was well worth it. I hope we can do it again some time."

Shunsui pulled off his own helmet, getting off the bike and setting both on the seat. He grinned at her for a moment then gave her a mock pout, holding his arms out for her.

Biting her lower lip, Kurenai moved into his arms and looked up at him. "You are amazing, and I am certain that this was the best date I have ever been on. Thank you."

Shunsui wrapped his arms around her, returning her thanks with a kiss. He pulled his lips away from hers for a moment, laughing a little bit.

"What's so funny?" Her voice sounded suspicious, but also light. She didn't want to press her luck by kissing him back, instead settling for light action. She wondered if she shoudl have pushed a bit more but his laughter disrupted her reverie.

"Happy White Day, Kurenai." He smiled at her again before closing his eyes and kissing her once more, this time letting the kiss grow a little deeper.

She kissed him back, pressing herself against him as she felt her cheeks flush. "Wow, you're good at this."

He smiled at her, holding her close in his arms. "I'll see you again soon?" he asked her, knowing quite well what the response would be.

"If you'd like, I'm sure I can clear a space on my social calendar for you." She smirked, sighing dramatically. "I'll just have to blow off some other poor sap."

"Some other poor sap who obviously doesn't deserve an evening with you," he said playfully. Shunsui let one arm free, leaving the other around Kurenai's waist as he walked her to the door. "Have a good night, Kurenai. I'll give you a call soon, we'll see about clearing that space." He pulled her close one last time, stealing another kiss from her lips before walking back to his motorcycle.

Kurenai unlocked her door, waving goodbye to him before heading into her house. She was utterly shocked. That was the most perfect date ever.
