The view from your window?
Those lovely plantings are a welcome reminder that spring will be here before we know it.
January's managed to tick itself gone, and now there's only February in our way until the warming March winds begin to blow. \0/

Yes, from the middle of the bay window in my living room, looking down into the forecourt. (The motorcycle is not mine though. ;-))

I am awaiting the spring! I bought a pot of hyacinth bulbs that were just beginning to sprout last week and they have already grown. I have some impatients plants inside that have begun to get flowers again in response to the increase in sunlight. If all goes well, I can set them outside again, maybe in April. Sunshine and flowers make such a difference.

We haven't had much sun this winter. When it does shine, if we are free, we take a drive through the state forest, get out hiking a little if the trail's not icy. Springtime and flowers, - oh, I'd better not get too excited about it, because it's still quite a way off:)

Here, too. It's been very, very grey. Even now it's dark by 4:30 pm. My answer is to buy a houseplant. They help pull me through!

I was so happy to see you post--and was going to answer right away and then we had a snowstorm and then I got distracted and in fact I'm at the stage of the pandemic where I've turned into a slug, the days drift by and I don't move and I see that it's now the end of February... how the hell did that happen ( ... )

So lovely to hear how things are going with you, despite the slug description! Among other stationary things I've been doing, I've been watching natural history documentaries, mostly animals, but some astronomy ones. In the animal category, among other things, I've learned more about hibernation, and aestivation, which I had never heard of before. I mention all this because I think that's what's been going on with people for many months now. This is how many creatures respond to a hostile environment in order to survive and I think we've joined them. I am very grateful that the full date is shown at the bottom of my computer screen, otherwise I might not know what month it is, much less the day. Even 2021 looks weird ( ... )

Part 2/2

...

I know what you mean about the commitment to watch something long. I find it hard to start anything new and I can't endure even the slightest dramatic tension. It's a bit ridiculous, but that's the way it is. I even have to watch the animal documentaries in small doses because of all the predation, so astronomy is safer in that regard.

I did manage to watch two films recently, White Crow (which was helped by my knowing the outcome) and Yeh Ballet which I split up into two or three sittings because I didn't know the ending ( ... )
