Blue Man Group did something similar with their version of the Terminator theme when Universal wouldn't allow them to release it. It wasn't so much a fit as it was "we like this music and want you to hear it." So there's that.
On the other hand, the two songs you linked to sound a little like old Daft Punk but not as polished as their stuff usually is. I can't really believe that they would submit this type of music for a movie score either.
My money would be on these guys not being them, but I've been wrong before. My ear for music is pretty hit or miss. 9.9

Really. They composed a theme for Salvation, but Universal went with something else. So the BMG founders went onto the message board and made a big huge post about how the song was leaked by someone at the studio and they were looking into it and they were so sorry, Universal it never should have happened really they're going to have such a talking to with whoever did this. And the whole post was littered with links to the mp3 download. It was pretty epic. *has it if you would like it*

I was apparently confused about the TTT stuff. But that there are tracks other than what's being claimed as a failed TRON score would suggest to me that they're their own entity. I hope it isn't them either... if for no other reason than.. well.. songs you linked weren't really that good... XD;;;
i consider myself pretty musically orientated, after spending ten years in concert band, and music writers have a sound signature that is always them, especially in the case of Daft Punk.
i've listened to this TTT stuff, and... i can see the Daft Punk influence, but this is not Daft Punk. it's like Jablonsky being influenced by Chopin, and getting it really close, while leaving his own carbon footprint in the music.
this footprint is TTT, with Daft Punk influences flittering around it, but i am pretty sold that it is not Daft Punk.
