LJ-cut, just incase you don't want to read it. It's the prologue to "Yubiwa", which I have renamed "Uninvited" because someone else had the title "Yubiwa" for a Sasu/Saku fic. But it's alright, because "Uninvited" fits much better. ^_^
the fire began to engulf the entire compound.
the trees right outside the entrance of the sound village were not shown mercy. the fire had extended, burning anything in sight to crisp. the leaves began to crackle, burning and turning into dust. footsteps could be heard from the staircases that led deep underground. a couple of seconds later, a figure emerged from the shadows and into the fire. his whole body was covered in blood, and some of his clothing was sheered and tattered.
with one kunai in hand, uchiha sasuke marked the death of the sound village, as well as for its leader. the blood on the kunai was still fresh and dripped down towards the razor-sharp tip. the edges began to bleed, dropping small droplets of blood down on the floor. he fell on his knees, hands placed on the ground. he looked like a dog, begging for mercy. many scratches could be found on his body, as well as a fatal wound or two. the blood oozed freshly from one of the fatal wounds. one of them was right above his heart, while the other was near his neck. if he had not dodged quickly enough, he would have been a dead man.
he certainly cannot die yet.
even at the ripe age of seventeen, uchiha sasuke was not given the opportunity to test his power. the power he had gained under orochimaru was physical, but also mental. under the snake sannin, he learned how to suppress his feelings and emotions. this new type of training allowed the uchiha avenger to focus on revenge, and revenge alone.
I am an avenger.
Even if I have to sell my soul to the devil, I will attain power.
uchiha itachi was nowhere to be found. akatsuki was taken down many years ago, and the only survivor was his own brother. he remembered the day that he heard orochimaru talking about konoha suppressing akatsuki's objectives, and almost destroying all of its members except for that one man. he was not upset at this news. in all actuality, he was overjoyed in one way or another that no other shinobi could defeat his brother.
this was his duty, his sole purpose for living.
he gasped for breath, covering his mouth with his hand. he could feel his callused fingers against his cold yet gentle lips. warm blood oozed out his mouth. eyes of dark onyx fixated themselves upon the blood he coughed out on his hand. he never knew that his blood was so warm. for a long time he felt inhuman and cold. a sheer vessel of revenge.
sasuke suppressed these feelings, ignoring them most of the time.
he didn’t want his 'feelings' to get in the way.
if they did, he would never forgive himself.
these emotions was one of the reasons sasuke left konoha, and broke those old bonds. stubborn as the younger uchiha was, he admitted to him slowly that he wanted to protect his comrades. those people he cared about the most. he did not wanted to drag them down this path he had chosen for himself. especially...
Sakura.
the night he left konoha was still vivid in his mind. sakura came to save him, proclaiming her love for him, and with the words 'thank you', he left her there. it was for the best.
Naruto.
he acknowledged his former comrade and the strength he attained. sasuke secretly hated himself for feeling weak. he did not enjoy the feeling, and vowed to become stronger at any cost.
he left to seek out orochimaru for power...
his teacher had other plans...
orochimaru seduced sasuke with power, in order to gain what he wanted.
another body, another powerful body for him to possess.
orochimaru wanted the sharingan bloodline limit in sasuke. he did not know of his teacher's plans, until he turned fifteen. he was able to escape it two years ago, and got away with it today as well.
he killed his teacher.
he had no regrets about it.
not only did he kill orochimaru, but he killed kabuto as well.
along with a couple of other sound nins...
it was genocide.
his lips formed into a smirk; small cackles escaping his lips. he enjoyed the slaughter and realized just how powerful he was. sasuke was able to kill his teacher single-handedly. not even the third could kill orochimaru...
orochimaru was weaker than his brother.
by killing orochimaru, sasuke was determined that now was the time to finally seek revenge. the time was coming and he could smell it as the wind blew by. the markings of the cursed seal slowly retreated back into the mark on his back. the long bangs smacked against his cheeks looking up into the skies.
the sun was shining, and yet he could feel no warmth from it.
nature had acknowledge him and bestowed upon him power.
this power was a wonderful feeling. he never felt so powerful, ever since he went level two back in the valley of the end.
his body finally gave in, falling against the ground.
he was limp, and he was sure that death was upon him. he wouldn't allow nature to take away his dreams so quickly. with strenuous effort he tried to support himself until he was able to get up. his legs were wobbly at first but he was accustomed to this feeling already. standing there, he watched the fire grow ablaze. if he was right, some ANBU members would be coming soon to check. if not now, then tomorrow or later on in the day.
he could not stay here for long. before he left, he tried to dissolve the memories of his second home. surpressing them deeper into his mind --- doing what his teacher had taught him to do ---- and then left. though he was far away from the fire, his eyes soon flicked and picked up its own flame.
the flame of determination and willpower.
living in the darkness for so long, the fire's warmth regenerated him.
he decided that today he was never going to be human.
he was inhuman. what kind of human would have a malicious intent of trying to kill his own brother?
he realized this not too long ago, but it settled in today.
he walked down the path, going deeper into the darkness. the darkness embraced him, allowing him to hate once more and spite against the man who wronged him in the past. as well as, the person he was slowly becoming.

[Edit: Got it beta read by Tommerz, Sankyuu!]
I was thinking of posting this up at the Sasuke community, and the Sasu/Saku community. But ugh, I'll deal with that later I guess. I keep listening to the soundtrack of this fic, cause I really like all the songs I got for this particular fic.
...Why am I still up? *headdesk*
