Ahhh, figured that I should make an update before the year ends since the last time I updated with anything relatively important was at the beginning of the month, lol.
School
Passed all my exams/courses! Which means, only three left to go next term and then I'm done. :D I was seriously worried about Roman History though because Haley is a HORRIBLE lecturer. I've been to almost all of the classes and I barely knew anything after the course finished. My two midterms were pretty awful so I had to study like mad for the exam (which I did) because I need this credit to graduate. Luckily, I later found out that I could take the 2nd part of the course the next term without credit for the 1st part since I'm registered in Classics, but hey, I wouldn't voluntarily take another course with Haley if I can avoid it.
But, I passed the exam (and by a lot according to my final grade) so all is well. :D
Next term, I have Ancient Art II (with a new prof), Greek Intellectual Revolution (with Dr. Corner, awesome flamboyant man with loud shirts and a British? accent), and Greek Sanctuaries (with Dr. Pope, whom I had Ancient Art I with and now have a slight schoolgirl crush on). It should be interesting stuff and a lot of work, but I just have to pull through this term and then that's that.
Life
Sarah and Megan both left the house earlier than I did. Sarah got me the Scott Pilgrim movie and Megan got me this cute Christmas mug w/ candy cane hot chocolate mix and peppermint bark. :3
Then I had a little Christmas gathering at my place in Hamilton before I came back to TO for the holidays and it was fun! I'm so glad Matt brought his Rock Band, lol. We also had a little Secret Santa and that turned out pretty well!
londaily got me this hipster tote bag with an illustration of a fox riding a bicycle on it. >_>; And a cool illustration book! It is seriously pretty and I love how you can see the rough sketches on the other side. :D
The gathering would've gone perfectly if I wasn't so irritated the day before though. Darcy had promised me that he'd show up but, surprise surprise, he didn't. Anyway, more on that later.
Christmas
The family came over to our place, as usual, and we had dinner together. It was a lot quieter this year though, with Lily, Joe and their spouses/kids not being there. Ella's parents and my mom and dad are also have a spat because some problems regarding the restaurant came up. My mom wanted them to come so we could sort things out (even though there will be arguing involved but meh, there's always an argument at a family gathering) but they kinda just ignored her suggestion to save face. This aunt is probably the most selfish person in the family and I don't like her one bit. Kinda glad she didn't show her face this year.
Cousins also ended up teaching us how to play Texas Hold 'em and we ended up playing it for an hour or two. 'Twas fun! Especially with Monopoly money, lol. But my hands were always shit and my bluffs never work so I was out of the game pretty quickly. >>;
Cindy (cousin, lol) also came out with the brilliant idea of making the family play charades (including the parents and whatnot) so it was awkward, but fun! Most awkward for me though since I got Michael Jackson and with the new hardwood floors and bare feet, I couldn't exactly imitate the Moonwalk so I did the whole grab-crotch-and-thrust bit. It was embarrassing. I'm just glad Ella got it right away so I didn't have to do that for too long, lol.
I also made an awesome carrot cake (w/ cream cheese icing)for the family and got nothing but compliments on it, and even people bugging me to pass on the recipe to themselves/their wives, lol.
Loot! → Vitamin E gift set from the Body Shop, a small mp3 speaker toy that looks like a Munny, cucumber melon body mist, $10, a hair dryer, and a ridiculously expensive bracelet that I have to wear (for a whole year!) as a charm to protect myself from anything bad (since the Year of the Rabbit is coming up).
Friends
Been hanging out with a bunch of people this break. Old high school friends, current university friends, friends who came back to the city for the holidays, friends who will be leaving the city/country soon. 'Tis been a busy break! Glad I don't have to spend the entire holiday entertaining a guest this time. -_-
Going to be spending New Years Eve with some old high school friends so I'm kinda excited for that. :D Nothing fancy, just chilling, have some cheap food. Hell, we have to head back at 11pm because one of them still has a curfew thing going. >>; Disadvantages of living with overprotective parents when you're already 22, lol.
Love
Ah, I dunno. It's a sad situation right now. Essentially, Darcy had kinda disappeared from the internets about a week before the Christmas gathering in Hamilton. I texted him a couple days before the gathering to ask him when he's going to be arriving so I can go pick him up but he didn't reply. The next day, I messaged him again and no reply. Then I texted "dude, you alive?" and he finally texts me back and says "I'm sorry. Life got crazy. Can't make it tomorrow. I'll explain later. Sorry." Yeah, most sincere message in the world, I know. I got really upset then, lol. >>;
And well, he still hasn't been online at all so I haven't talked to him for nearly a month now. I'm worried as to what the hell might've happened, but at the same time, I'm super annoyed about all of this.
So yeah, I dunno what's going on. Kinda discouraged in general. I have his Christmas gift sitting in my room in Hamilton and I dunno what to do with it. It's a big, knitted green scarf with the Triforce (from Zelda) on either end that I got off of Etsy (don't ask me how much it cost, lol).
I want to be a little more optimistic about things and think that there's a good reason for this but these circumstances just don't let me, lol. Kind of a sour end to 2010.
And of course, gotta make resolutions for the new year, no matter how unlikely it is that I'm going to fulfill them!
1) Get healthier. → more exercise, eat healthier, lose the excess weight
2) Procrastinate less. → I know I can't stop procrastinating completely (that's just wishful thinking) but at least be more productive/proactive this coming year since I'll be graduating and moving on to another chapter in my life.
3) Be happier. → 2009 and 2010 had some significantly shitty moments that brought my spirits down so I hope this new year will be better.
