If you didn't care you wouldn't be thinking about this. So long as you are willing to put the time and effort into improving things.. then you will. As I have observed from my own personal window I do beleive you have the potential and the ability. The tools and materials are at your disposal, a time of trial and error awaits, but the movement forward is now merely an eventuality.
