Today was Akita~♪
Namahage! Kiritanpo!

Tomorrow is my dad's hometown! It's Iwate

Namahage = a ritual that's popular in Akita. On New Year's Eve, a group of young men dress up as Namahage and go around to people's houses, asking if there are any misbehaving kids. The kids often end up crying and the parents tell the Namahage that there are no naughty kids here, and they leave. It's a little ritual to get kids to listen to their parents! Aww... :S
Kiritanpo = a Japanese dish where rice is mashed up and formed into little cylinder shapes and then served with miso or other soup. Akita is well-known for it :)
Akita Komachi = a brand of rice in Akita.
