Misaki never understood Usagi-chichi's fascination with rubber ducks. It seemed like a childish fascination for such an old man, but then, Misaki couldn't really argue, because the whole Usami clan was so secluded, barricaded off from the normal world. He really shouldn't expect them to behave like the rest of the world. That would be unfair.

Recently, he had felt the distance between himself and Usagi-san grow. Sure, he enjoyed the peace from the perverted novelist's usual molestation, but he also missed the warmth of those large hands, even though he would never admit it. Usagi-chichi had once mentioned that rubber ducks facilitated the bonding between father and son. Misaki wondered if that would work for lovers, as well.
Stupid as it may sound, Misaki found himself buying a number of the toys, hoping that it would work.

Seeing Misaki waiting for him in the bathtub, covered in foam and playing with rubber ducks made Usami Akihiko wonder if the boy had been reading his novels lately. Rather than debate whether this development in Misaki's sex appeal came naturally or as a result of his writing, Usami took the chance to "bond" with the boy.
