DAMN.

It's been a long time since I've posted on LJ. Long by my standards, anyway.

Long story short: I went into NYC today, saw The Dark Knight and loved it except for the annoying drunk who clapped during every Joker scene, saw Hellboy II and liked it a lot but wished there was more emphasis on the "other world" (that Forest God was awesome), and after ( Read more... )

YOU KNOW YOU WOULD DO IT.

It is so much fun, but still a little awkward with the crowd of people surrounding you taking pictures as you're standing there.

He is pretty funny, although he kind of mumbles when he talks so I couldn't understand him that well. I assume it's to make the conversation ~private~ so the hundred people around him don't hear, but it doesn't help with my hearing.

In all the time that I've watched movies (in a sensible, critiquing way rather than a childish, "OMG PRETTY PICTURES" way), the only two movies I've ever wanted to see twice have been Iron Man (for it's pure badassery and awesome soundtrack) and The Dark Knight (because there are some things I feel you don't get until you see it twice). Not to mention I just saw Batman Begins on the television today and want to see DK again.

I liked Maggie Gyllenhaal over Katie Holmes. You?

Awesome post!!! :))) I had know idea such things happened in New York but that's pretty nifty.

The Dark Knight was super, super great even though I was sititng by Sarah :( I'm sorry you had a stupid drunk guy to spoil it for you. What a weeny. You know the part where Joker is sitting in jail and Gordon gets promoted and Joker claps sarcastically? When I read that I pictured the guy clapping with Joker but since he was drunk it was sloppy.

There is even cooler stuff, trust me. I should post more about it in the future!

Sarah made it... bad?

THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. When my mom and I exited the theatre, there were policemen outside getting statements from the person who reported it and other movie-goers, and when we saw them I thought, "OMG THE DARK KNIGHT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING." At the very least, it was surreal. That movie had the most realistic feel to it out of any comic-turned-movie I've ever seen. Probably because of the limited use of superpowers/supernatural abilities and CGI.

I love the Joker. His character was the perfect blend of all the various interpretations (that I read on Wikipedia). I wonder if the Joker will be in the next one or not? :/

I hope Cillian is in it, too. Even if all he does is get arrested again.
