Manga

Aug 16, 2010 00:32

Having gotten back to my "manga phase", I went on onemanga.com to read Vampire Knights and a couple of other series. I was shocked, sad, and angry to find out that it had closed...>:( I've been going to that site for 3 years and I find it so much better than mangafox.com due to the fact that 1. it doesn't cause my computer to lag and 2. there's too ( Read more... )

manga, rants

manga producers are actually hunting down all illegal manga providers via internet...

Ahh really!? How sad! I really wish they wouldn't do that but I understand their reason for doing so...

It really sucks. I can't afford to read manga if they close all sites down. D:<
I recommend Shugo Chara and Soul Eater if you haven't read those...

I know what you mean...manga are so expensive at bookstores and libraries never have the ones I want to read! Going to bookstores and reading manga there could be another option but the nearest bookstore is 30 mins away and I would need to get my license...T_T
thanks for the recommendations! I'm gonna go wikipedia them xD

that is so true. mangas are expensive. that's why i don't own any. i always buy best seller books instead of mangas. one manga costs two novels of cecelia ahern. :/

I think I own 1? or 2? manga because I got them for 25 cents at this library rummage sale, but they're not from a series of all. they only contain excerpts from other mangas T_T

You read Cecelia Aherns books as well?! I've read only one (Where Rainbows End) and seen the movie PS: I Love You! they are just so good!

I usually buy best seller books at rummage sales that libraries have.

Grrr!
I was so sad when onemanga closed down!
That was where I went practically EVERY time I got bored!
It is so depressing...
That website is where I first began to have my "anime phase".

I haven't read any of the manga you have except for some of Vampire Knight..Any reccomendations? I am trying to find a new manga to read to get back into my "anime phase" :0.

Ahhh i know how you feel...that website got me back into manga and anime after a 2 year hiatus.
Have you found a new website to read manga?

Wellll, it depends on what type of manga you like to read. I tend to read ones that have a bit of romance/school life/mystery in them but I'll occasionally read ones of the action type as well (such as Naruto and Bleach).
My main point is: If you like to read manga of a similar genre then I could help you...sort of x)

No I haven't ); I think my friend uses mangafox as well >.<

Judging by my manga collection I think I like the action type ones more...
I own some of:
Hitman Reborn
Naruto
Death Note
and Vampire Knight..
Although I did read Absolute Boyfriend...So I pretty much read anything (;

Ahaha really?

Then, I'd suggest D.Gray Man (sp?)...I haven't read it but my best friend says it is a good series & I trust her judgement :)
For myself personally, I'd suggest Bleach (it's action-packed!) and Dengeki Daisy (it's cute!). I'd suggest more but it's 1 Am here...and my brain is pooped out!

Mmm me too...I still haven't gotten back to my manga phase yet, but last summer it lived for a short time. My friend got me hooked on Katekyo Hitman Reborn! and I stopped in the middle...I went back to check it out and found out OM was closed. I was heartbroken, it'd closed only a few days before. I was totally kicking myself for procrastinating. I haven't started reading yet either, LOL I will eventually..it's really good ^ ^

Another friend told me he uses Anime Shipuuden, maybe you should check it out? I haven't really read anything off there yet, as I'm still catching up on Kpop {priorities first!}

Ahhh, I've heard so much about Katekyo Hitman Reborn! I want to read it but like you said, K-pop is the priority! hahaha

Yeah...this phase came back for a week or so and then it left x)
