Just...this fic is awesome, and I do agree that Usopp would take up Luffy's title as captain if anything ever happened to Luffy, and that Zoro would definitely refuse to follow anyone else. He's just that kind of guy.

Yeah, I could just see Usopp taking up the role. Admitedly with some problems but... they'd want to honour Luffy's dream, so they'd all work towards it, even indirectly (as with Zoro).

Haha... actually I don't really go in for many of the pairings that wound up in this fic but they all just felt so right as the story progressed that I had to leave them in. :-)

Melancholy, but still...with that last line, it feels like Luffy is there in spirit. Zoro really would help Usopp there, and then would leave, because yeah. But I much loved the 8000-strong armada ^__^ Usopp would have a lot of growing to do to fit that mantle, but yeah, I could eventually see it; interesting thought...

Oh yeah, Luffy is definitely still there in spirit and Zoro knew it too, but there are some things you just can't expect someone to witness and Usopp taking Luffy's place... that would be the big one.

As for the 8,000-strong armada... well, since most of his other lies seem to be coming true... :-) And I imagined also that each of the original crew would have their own Division, to kind of equalise their standings with themselves and Usopp (although obviously Usopp would still be OVERALL Captain, but at the same time giving them some space and respect of their own. The exception to this of course would be Zoro, who would flatly refuse any offers to lead his own Division and stick by Usopp as pseudo-first-mate again).

Uh, sorry about that. Yes, it was painful (even to write), but yeah... I'd like to think Luffy would have wanted it that way (should something terrible like that ever happen... which it had BETTER NOT Oda-sensei...).
