I agree. There definitely needs to be more Mihawk.
The whole thing with the sensei, I can only suppose, is because the rest of the gang had their "childhood family" show (minus poor Robin) and so Zoro's had to fit the theme as best as possible. But I do wish it had been Johnny and Yosaku as well. I miss them!
As for the drabble, aww, ending love! (original idea also ftw though)
Yeah, I guess it kind of had to fit... but it just seemed so odd when all the others have had extended interactions with their "special people" and Zoro's teacher has only been in the one very short one, and really doesn't seem to have been as big a part of Zoro's life as other people (eg. Kuina, Mihawk, Johnny & Yosaku).
I miss them too. And Mihawk. :-) I was amused and delighted beyond all belief that he got voted most popular character after the Straw Hats in the latest poll. The man barely appears in the series, and yet... so it can't be just us!!! :-)
