Felt like writing for Kyra. Prompt caught my eyyyee.
I don't like it but whatever, it's better than nothing.
I haven't read over it. As usual, I am lazy so feel free to point out errors.
In any case...
Ke`ah = Kay-uh.
Kyra = Kai-ruh (No, NOT kee-ruh)

.:;An invasion of privacy;:.

She was very particular about how things ran in her home, in the Palace. After the passing of her parents, she had fallen in to a state of rather disturbing sensitivity. Little things going on around her would set her off, not full-out yelling but the death glares and snapped comments and frightening scowls. Someone would get in her way as she was on a determined prowl somewhere, just a hair too much in her path and she would give an agitated hiss before brushing past them. Someone would disturb her work in the library or her room and would receive a look that could have made Sol uncomfortable. It was nearly two months before the phase wore off and she was simply silent. In her silence, she would often do whatever she could to avoid contact with others, so long as she could. Of course, it was hard as she was expected to run things as the Queen and, without a king, everything had to be done on her own.

To be honest, it was hard for anyone to tell whether she was happy or not when Ke`ah showed up. On one hand, they knew she was relieved by his acceptance of her as well as his acceptance of the role as her King…on the other hand, it seemed that she took it a bit as an invasion of privacy despite the whole thing being her idea. Admittedly, she needed him there. Other than just being one of her dearest friends, he was special to her and that was what had prompted her to request his help. But she was still Kyra. She still seemed to have this unspoken set of rules that he had to learn fast or risk breaking. This would have been much easier if the Vanaryza had not been so protective of their Queen; they felt that he ought to learn things on his own or he would never be what Kyra needed. This was a great misfortune as it felt quite like walking on shattered glass to be living in the Palace with a woman who seemed to find more things irritating than she did good. Often times when in a particularly foul mood for whatever reason, she would give him those ‘you’re in my way’ looks, even when he was all the way across the room. He had a feeling they were more of ‘you’re intruding in my territory’ looks yet somehow he did not feel uncomfortable when she gave such looks, somehow he knew that she did not want him to leave regardless of how she acted. Besides…

Her hugs made up for it.

Her laughter was worth sitting through her angry spells.

Her smiles were brilliantly defiant of her wrathful glares.

”You’re good at this, Kay,” she told him, leaning comfortably against one of the tables in the massive library.

”At what?” He lifted his black-eyed gaze from his book, arching a brow in question.

She smiled, tilting her head back to gaze at the glass-domed ceiling that arched above both floors of the library. ”Everything. You’re still here.”

He laughed, softly and more of a sharp exhalation of breath. ”I’m glad you think so. I was beginning to doubt myself.”

His laugh was echoed by hers. ”Don’t doubt yourself. I have never doubted you.”

”That, too, is good to know.”

”Thank you, Ke`ah.”
