i used to love october.

this year i'm struggling through the season. who am i kidding? this year i'm struggling.

october was a pivotal month for me last year. maybe it will be again.

i know it's not kingly but there's this ache that stays with me. and yes, i know it apparently is serving me, otherwise i wouldn't feel it.

still, i miss them.

Every day's a gift. It is natural to focus on the loss instead since that is present and prospective. But I like to think that all that wonderful life energy that is off dancing at some other ball would prefer we too rejoice in the continuity of life and remembrance, renewal and love bestowed.

I know: easier said than done.
