The reason why it is so easy to blame Israel is because they are rich and powerful, which is the same reason the US is blamed for many of Latin American problems. As powerful states in their neighbourhood they are expected to exercise restrain. Also they are an easy scapegoat ( Read more... )

i hate what's going on. i think israel was looking for an excuse. all this over 2 soldiers? what happened to bargaining, or working something out. i mean, it's not the first time that either side has kidnapped from the other. ugh. effing war. i remember an interview on the news late last week, and an israeli soldier was asked if this was war...he said yes. this is before anything was publiched in the media about lebannon saying this was war. the whole situation is frustrating, because i still feel bad for all the innocent civilians. i think it would be really cool if the war monger politicians from every country were stuck on one country and were blown up...but then again that still wouldn't solve anything because there are generations of people who have grown up with the trauma and hatred for their "enemies".

i've kinda learned that this is life over there, and to just turn our cheek. we're safer we we butt out as a nation and let someone else deal with it.
