I have had the flu. Once.

A few years ago, and I was certain I was going to die. And there is certainly no way I could have done anything - other then lie in bed and wait for death.

Then afterwards, my mom is law got a slight stuffy nose....and said she got the flu from me. Because she takes vitamins it didn't effect her the same, apparently.

So yeah, I agree with you. People use this word far to often.
